The opening of a three-part finale, Top Chef Season 12 Episode 13 found the three finalists heading to Mexico.
Once there, they were greeted by Tom Colicchio, as he invited them to view the final cook-off of Last Chance Kitchen. This enabled them to see who will be rejoining the competition.
From there, Award-winning Mexican chef Enrique Olvera introduced the Quickfire Challenge; it centered on the contestants creating a dish that highlights the Mexican ingredient xoconostle, which is a special type of prickly pear.
And then from there, the chefs' creativity was put to the test when they were challenged to create a unique dish inspired by a local artist’s work for the Elimination Challenge.
