This week opens with Marshall still at his parent’s home, following the funeral for his father.
Zoë sets up Ted on a date with her hot cousin (Katy Perry). Realizing he is in love with Zoë, though, he passes off the easy bucket to a trailing Barney for the slam-dunk. Ted calls an intervention on himself to kick Zoë out of his life, but Robin – who doesn’t want to lose her new friend – tells Ted to shut down his feelings for her.
When Marshall learns that Zoë is actually getting a divorce and is in love with Ted, he orchestrates a love connection over the phone from his bedroom in Minnesota.
