Californication Season 5 Episode 1 Recap: JFK to LAX

Hank takes off for the West Coast on this season five premiere to escape an ugly breakup and to listen to a business proposal Charlie has lined up.  On the flight there he meets a woman and they mutually seduce one another. Hank is greeted at the airport by his long time friend and agent and his son. First stop is to see Karen and Becca. Karen is remarried to Richard Bates Hank’s former colleague. She invites Hank to dinner so he can meet Becca’s new boyfriend. Hank takes a meeting for a possible writing job with a prevalent rap star only to learn the woman from the plane is said entertainers girlfriend.
