It seems even the quaint little town of Port Wenn can have its fair share of drama.
And as much as Dr. Best has been making some strides in charming those around him with his particular brand of curmudgeon essence, he’s rubbed people the wrong way again.
We scored an exclusive Best Medicine sneak peek that reveals just how much he’s gotten under some skin!

If there’s one thing that can collectively bring out the best and worst in people, it’s sports. A town passionate about its sports will never let anyone hear the end of it.
Trust me, I know. I’m a Bills fan from Buffalo. Condolences are welcome.
And it’s safe to say that Port Wenn gets super passionate about their high school baseball team.
Apparently, rooting for them has done a great deal for the town, including keeping marriages together, according to our exclusive clip.
We open with a couple in the waiting room, waiting to be seen because the husband has hearing issues, he may or may not blame on his wife, who is always yelling at him.

But apparently, rooting for baseball together is one of the few things that keeps this amusing couple together, and Martin has ruined that.
How, you might ask? Apparently, they blame him for breaking the arm of the town’s star player, and without him, the game is a lost cause. Oh yeah, and it’s the playoffs.
Naturally, that means the stakes are high here.
Port Wennians are not thrilled about that, nor do they see the error of their ways in treating a young athlete like a commodity instead of a person.
And what are his issues? According to Martin, the kid has some form of brittle bone disease. That is likely why he made a call to keep the kid from playing. Now his arm is broken, and the entire town blames Martin.

Martin has some great moments in this clip. At one point, he writes a prescription for a divorce, and that’s more than enough to elicit a chuckle.
It’s that and the fact that another Port Wennian wants Martin to prescribe something for the depression he has now that Martin has ruined his favorite sports activity.
These folks are hilarious.
But Martin can’t get through the waiting room full of disgruntled Port Wennians before the sunny Sheriff Mark comes in with a box of doughnuts that feels like a bribe right out of the gate.
There’s a clear angle well before he cops to it, and Martin sees right through it, which is comical.

Bumbling Sheriff Mark has grown quite fond of Martin and even regards him as a friend, though Martin would love a word about that.
But Mark is hesitant to break the news that it’s not just doughnuts he’s there for — but he has the unfortunate task of serving up the malpractice suit that a patient’s parent is filing against Martin.
Remember that star player? Well, his father is also Martin’s old high school bully. Yeah, that guy.
Clearly, this lawsuit is less about Martin’s actions and everything to do with Martin himself.
Nevertheless, no one likes staring down the barrel of legal paperwork. And the serve scene is as amusing as you can imagine.
But don’t just take our word about it; check it out below!
Best Medicine returns with a hilarious, all-new episode tonight.
The synopsis reads that:
On the eve of Port Wenn High School’s baseball team’s playoff game, the town is furious with Martin when he accidentally breaks the arm of their star player, who happens to be the son of his high school bully. However, Martin suspects the boy has a more serious condition.
Meanwhile, Elaine moves into Martin’s waiting room after fighting with her mom, Aunt Sarah rivals with a fan of the opposing team, and Louisa makes a conscious effort to make some female friends
It sounds like another strong hour of Best Medicine, and the clip is proof of such.
You can catch Best Medicine at 8/7c tonight on FOX. Don’t forget to check out our full review afterward!
