I should have predicted tonight’s episode would be massive, as it was the first time I didn’t have a screener. That clued me in that there would likely be an emotional cliffhanger.
I didn’t expect what happened, and I’m not okay.
Before we dive into the emotional mess, let’s celebrate that Will Trent will return for another season, and Faith will remain at the GBI.
Will Trent Season 4 Episode 15 looked like it would include at least one lighter case involving an alien abduction, but it quickly got dark.
While I’m relieved that Faith realized how much she was needed to solve cases and put witnesses at ease, I hated seeing her attacked.
Violence against women always turns my stomach, making tonight extra rough.
Faith Contemplates Leaving, But a Case Reels Her Back In
At least Will Trent followed up on Faith’s wariness about staying with the GBI. She’s seen the sacrifices Will and Amanda have made and wanted to watch Jeremy win a Grammy. Yay for a Jeremy mention!
I loved the domestic Faith and Ormewood scenes. Whether they date or not, they act like a family. While he wants the rent, he wants her to be happier.
Fate spoke, though, when they received a call from one of Ormewood’s buddies. Instead of a carjacking, a young girl had locked herself in a teenager’s car.
She was terrified, but opened up to Faith, saying aliens took her. I thought this would be a fun, sci-fi case, especially when Faith and Ormewood visited Shelly’s Alien Emporium.
Shelly, the owner, was hilarious, and Ormewood looked in heaven. He’s such a big kid.
However, nothing could be that cute and innocent, because intel led them to a cheap motel, and the aliens were code for assailants.
That poor girl had been traumatized.
A Sex Trafficking Case Affects Faith
Typically, Angie leads the sexual assault and sex trafficking cases, so I enjoyed seeing Faith’s perspective.
It sickened me that Jane Doe hadn’t been with her grandmother, but her manager. Many young girls had been trafficked out of a cheap hotel.
Faith generally stays calm, but she screamed at that motel manager for not seeing what occurred right under his nose.
My favorite part of this arc was when Angie admitted some girls heal after this, implying and admitting to Faith that she’d been trafficked and survived. That was a huge step in the women’s friendship.
Faith was the best one to handle this case since she could keep Grace, the girl, calm and reassure her that her parents only cared that she was safe. Being a mom, Faith relates to that.
I loved that Shelly could help Faithwood solve the case by isolating the audio, and they heard the truck that transported the girls.
Those perps were vicious, and one tried attacking Faith. Our girl was a fighter, but I feared for her for a while.
Faith felt defeated that while they arrested two of the perps, they hadn’t demolished the trafficking ring. I hope we see her take down the rest of these jerks with Angie and Ormewood’s help.
Planning for a Psychopath Didn’t Work
Therapy has helped Will immensely, but it wasn’t meant for Dr. Roach to analyze Adelaide; it was meant to help Will keep his humanity and prepare him for Adelaide’s visit.
Everyone seemed suspicious that Will had taken a day off, since he’s predictable, but he tried not to put anyone else in danger and to keep Adelaide happy.
It impressed me that Betty sensed something was off, and I bawled when Will said goodbye to his precious pooch, stating that if anything went wrong, Nico would care for her.
Will knew that he planned to kill Adelaide. It’s why he wanted to psychoanalyze her and have a tracker on him.
It almost seemed like Will had become more like a profiler, and I liked that role. He knew how to play Adelaide’s game and flirt to get her to reveal information, but she had too many people on her payroll.
This story has dragged on too long. She needs to be caught, and we need word on Uncle Antonio, and more than a quick update.
How Much Must Will Suffer?
I know Will Trent Season 4 has focused on healing, but it’s felt like it’s been just as much about Will’s suffering.
James Ulster abducted him, and then he watched him die in front of him. After that, Ulster’s daughter, Adelaide, kidnapped and tortured his Uncle Antonio.
Will tried to play by the rules to pacify Adelaide, but Amanda was caught between Will and the FBI, who only cared about catching Adelaide, not rescuing Will’s uncle.
If there’s anything we know about Amanda, it’s that she would risk anything for Will. That’s her family.
It hurts because Will had no idea she had butted in. He would not have wanted that. He can’t lose another person he loves. Adelaide knew how important Amanda was to Will.
I’m unsure if Amanda can survive another gunshot to the chest, or how many chances she’s got left.
But I don’t think Will can handle losing her. She’s the only mother figure and stability he’s ever known. I’ve always loved their relationship, and I’ll hate losing her.
Faith also just reconsidered staying at the GBI to help people. If Amanda dies, she could change her mind again, thinking that the job is too dangerous.
