The narrative centers on Morgan Guillory, portrayed by Kaitlin Olson, a single mother of three with an exceptional intellect and an IQ of 160. Initially working as a cleaning lady for the Los Angeles Police Department, Morgan’s unique ability to solve complex cases leads her to become a consultant for the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division. Her unconventional methods and sharp mind form an unusual partnership with the by-the-book Detective Karadec, played by Daniel Sunjata.
The series delves into Morgan’s balancing act between her demanding role in crime-solving and her responsibilities as a mother. It also explores her quest to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of her first boyfriend, Roman, who vanished when their eldest daughter, Ava, was a baby.
