Nyla Harper is an LAPD detective on The Rookie who went from four years of undercover work to serving as Nolan's training officer before getting promoted to detective.

She's a bit of a renegade and thnks outside of the box on the job.

She married James Murray after having a tumutltous relationship with her previous husband which often caused strife between her and her daughter. She has also had another child with James.
