Frank: You don't get to be the arsonist and the fire fighter.
Governor: What's that mean?
Frank: It means you don't get a big thank you for cleaning up a mess you made.

Nicky: So, given no choice, would you put the welfare of your family above the law?
Frank: Yes, I would.
Danny: Thank you.
Frank: But when the dust settled I would walk down to the local precinct and turn my self in because nobody's above the law, and without the law, nobody is safe.

Abigail: What I knew is that you're a hard guy but not a mean or petty one, at least I thought I new.
Frank: I hope you know.

Sid: Boss, can I say one thing? The idea of you being at the arrest, I think it sends the wrong signal. We've got murderers, rapists, arsonists, all kinds of bad guys.
Frank: And I don't show up at any of those collars.
Sid: Exactly.

Erin: Are you okay?
Frank: Actually I'm being a big baby about it. I know it, but I can't seem to shake it.

Frank: I've heard one side called fascist and cruel, the other called fairy tales for snowflakes. Neither is true. The middle ground has gone missing.
Erin: How do you get it back?
Frank: I don't know.

Erin: Nicky is not a cop.
Frank: You don’t know that.
Erin: I am very proud to come from a cop family. It defines who I am and what I do. Nicky is not a cop.
Frank: She doesn't get to decide what she wants to do for a living?
Erin: That's not fair.
Frank: But it is the real question here.

There is no better feeling for a cop than slapping the cuffs on a bad guy and getting them off the street.

If a smart, savvy, young candidate from a long line of dedicated cops wants to take the exam, if I blink at that you should throw me out the door.

Erin: Okay, so you guys want to stop sugar coating it now?
Frank: Nobody's sugar coating it.
Erin: Really?
Frank: Yeah.
Erin: Because I don't hear anyone talking about the stinkers and the jumpers, the crack addicts and the child abusers. Not to mention the anti-cop sentiment that is your thank you these days.

Frank: Oh, our dinners really aren't about eating.
Erin: I know.
Frank: You hope the food's good but the connection's why we gather.

I don't mind tough questions as long as my answers are printed accurately without any shade or shine.
