Recap

Kendell sits in orange, writing on his cell mirror, "Daddy loves Inge."

At a bar, Kendall and his wife do karaoke. He's with his friend Lamar and his brother David.

A friend comes up and asks Kendall about a job. Lamar lashes out at him for bothering Kendall.

Kendall's wife, Lisa, gets a call and looks disturbed.

They meet a Detective at the hospital, and the doctor needs their consent for an exam.

The babysitter apologizes.

Detective Douglas takes them aside and advises them that someone at the park molested their daughter Ingrid. An APB was issued for the perpetrator.

As they arrive home, a large crowd of Kendall's employees, including Lamar and David, are outside. They usher Ingrid inside and ask for privacy.

Lamar follows him inside, and they confront him about releasing Ingrid's personal information. Lamar asks about the perpetrator.

He looks at the suspect drawing and sees that it's a white man, and he scoffs that they won't pursue the perpetrator because he's black.

Lisa tries to get Ingie to take a bath. She's hesitant. Meanwhile, Kendall texts the detective.

He blames himself as he and Lisa wind down for the evening. He says it was his job to protect her. Lisa wants to postpone her final Catechism because of the trauma. Kendall insists that she continue her religious training.

The detective is on the stand, and the prosecutor asks was Kendall aggressive. The detective defends Kendall's excessive contact and obsession with finding his daughter's attacker.

The day after the attack, Kendall returns to work. Lamar asks how Ingie is doing.  Ingie had nightmares. Kendall says she will be seeing a therapist.

Lamar complains about Detective Douglas and his history of not standing up for black people and suggests they get revenge themselves.

They disagree on how to proceed.

Kendall stops by the police department, and Detective Douglas has no update. Kendall asks if he will look away from him as he did the young black man killed by the police.

Detective Douglas gives him his word that he will do all he can.

Later that night, Ingrid studies for her Catechism. Ingrid gets frustrated and doesn't continue. Lisa suggests they break for the night. They argue over if Ingrid should proceed due to the trauma.

Lamar stops by the house. He has found the man who assaulted Ingrid. He put the word out, and his boys possibly found the suspect at a local park. Lamar convinces Kendall not to call Detective Douglas. Kendall agrees to verify it's the suspect. Ingrid's Catechism is in 2 hours, but he leaves with Lamar.

Kendall, Lamar, and David search the park for the suspect.

Lisa calls Kendall to find his location. He fakes a work emergency.

He demands that Lamar drop him off at the church since they can't find him, but they spot the perpetrator. They follow him into a bathroom. Kendall again tries to call Detective Douglas but is talked out of it by Lamar, who busts the door down.

They put on face masks and beat the old white man. Lamar holds him for Kendall to beat him. Kendall and the others stomp the man until he bleeds. Kendall insists they stop. Lamar comes back when he sees the man take out his phone and proceeds to kick the suspect viciously.

Kendall, Lamar, and David leave the scene, with Kendall looking guilty for what has transpired.

At the church, the priest instructs Ingrid through the profession of her faith. She stumbles for a bit but gets through it.

At home, Kendall showers and meets them at home. He didn't make it to the church.

He attempts to apologize to Lisa.

They share a sweet family breakfast the following day, and Detective Douglas arrives. He speaks to Kendall privately.

Detective Douglas advises that he was found unconscious and later succumbed to his injuries.

Detective Douglas infers that someone had to be very angry to do this, and he asks does Kendall know anything about it. He believes he has a motive and questions about his missing Ingrid's Catechism.

He lets him know that Lamar and David Perry are his alibis.

Kendall calls Lisa and lets her know that the suspect is deceased. She seems suspicious that he doesn't want more information.

Kendall lets Lamar and David know that the suspect died and they need to say they were all together.

Kendall wants to tell the truth, but Lamar says he will die before returning to prison. They disagree but decide to stick to their stories.

Kendall goes to church, and Detective Douglas joins him. He wants him to be honest with him about what happened to his daughter's attacker.

Detective Douglas spoke to Lamar and David, and they supported his story. The detective pleads with him. He believes the forensics will put someone away.

Kendall stands firm on his story, and Detective Douglas leaves. Lamar and David sit in the car across the street, speculating that Kendall ratted them out.

Kendall visits the scene of the crime.

He arrives home, and his wife confronts him about his suspicious behavior. He confesses to her that he and Lamar beat him, which felt good. He tells her how Lamar was the primary aggressor.

She insists that they tell the detectives, but he refuses on behalf of Lamar and David.

At the police station, he and Lisa respond to confess.

He is willing to take whatever his punishment is but asks for his help. Detective Douglas is unable to help him. Lamar and David have turned on him and testified that he committed the crime alone.

In court, David lies and says Kendall beat the man to death. David hesitates upon examination but persists with his story.

In a flashback, Detective Douglas asks why they would turn on their friend. David doesn't want to do this, but Lamar insists.

On the stand, Lamar sings his praises and says how surprising it was that Kendall beat that man with such venom. As he lies on the stand, Kendall screams that he will kill him and disrupts the court.

As Kendall is being led away, Detective Douglas privately tells him that he believes his story and makes a promise to vindicate Kendall.
