Recap

A flashback shows how Radcliffe and Aida took the real May captive and replaced her with the LMD. In another flashback, May finds herself in a spa simulation created for her by Aida. She keeps trying to escape but she keeps waking up in the spa. She frees herself from her restraints but is caught by Aida.

In the present, Radcliffe and Aida monitor May's vitals. Aida doesn't understand why Radcliffe keeps the real May alive. The S.H.I.E.L.D. team debates the logic of going into the Capitol to monitor Senator Nadeer's activities. May wakes up and tries to escape again.

Yo-Yo and Mack are in bed together when Mack makes up an excuse for not going on their latest mission. LMD May questions Fitz about Aida. The real May tries to use a piece of broken glass to cut through her bonds. Talbot disagrees with Mace and Coulson about going after Senator Nadeer without authorization.

May's escape is halted by Aida again. The two of them fight and May appears to disarm Aida. Mace and Daisy go the Capitol so Daisy can be officially confirmed as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Senator Nadeer is part of the panel questioning Daisy. Coulson and Yo-Yo enter the Capitol in disguise. Yo-Yo mentions the possibility of Coulson and May getting together, but Coulson denies it.

Simmons confronts Fitz about the way he's acted since the first Aida was defeated. Senator Nadeer questions Daisy about her activities as a vigilante. Coulson and Yo-Yo place surveillance devices around Senator Nadeer's office but are caught by security.

Senator Nadeer reveals before the panel that Coulson and Yo-Yo were caught trying to put surveillance equipment in her office and accuses S.H.I.E.L.D. of being a criminal organization. Coulson wonders how Senator Nadeer knew they were coming to her office. He accuses Talbot of leaking the information to Senator Nadeer, but Talbot denies it.

Aida confronts May and reveals that their entire fight is actually a simulation. Each time, May gets further and further in the program, and May vows to eventually beat it. Simmons finds Fitz with the old Aida's head and accuses him of putting them all at risk.

LMD May confronts Radcliffe about what he did to her, furious that she was sent to spy on the team. She tries to attack Radcliffe but is stopped by her programming. Radcliffe questions her about her feelings for Coulson. The S.H.I.E.L.D. team shows up to apprehend Radcliffe, thanks to Fitz's investigation into the old Aida's head. However, they don't realize that LMD May is not the real thing.

Yo-Yo questions Mack about his reasons for not going on the mission. He tells her he was visiting an ex and reveals that he had a daughter who died.

LMD May comforts Coulson after a bad day for S.H.I.E.L.D. Radcliffe tries to convince Fitz that his intentions were only good. Fitz shoots him and realizes that Radcliffe is also an LMD. The real Radcliffe is meeting with Senator Nadeer. She offers to let him meet the Superior.

Radcliffe reveals that he has changed May's program to force her to relive Bahrain over and over again, so she won't have the motivation to escape again. However, in this version, May saves the girl.
