Sherri brings Lola a birthday cupcake and learns Robin is taking Lola out to dinner. While Lola appreciates this, she really wants a party with her friends.

Emily and Luke are excited for their first public outing. An alarm buzzes on her phone, causing her to look upset.

Amy is defending HIrato, the owner of a sushi restaurant Marl loves. He's been accused of poisoning his sous chef, Paulo. They argued over him leaving the restaurant to Yuma instead of him.

DA Bravo wants Mark to assist Clayton Berger but refuses, saying he knows the restaurant and the chefs. Mark recommends Tony for DDA, but DA Bravo has chosen someone now.

Paulo doesn't want to testify. so DA Berger tries to propose a deal with Amy, but they're not interested.

Once the trial begins, he asks Paul how long he worked at Kinami Sushi, and Paulo reveals he started washing dishes there before attending school and becoming Hirato's protege.

He believed Hirato was leaving the restaurant to him, and when it became Yuma's legacy, he opened his own restaurant. He thought they were making amends when they exchanged signature dishes, but then he got blowfish poisoning.

Amy questions him about how the dish tasted and whether he's sure it was blowfish since Hirato knew Paulo didn't like it.

Emily represents Amma McKenna, a single mom charged with side-swiping and vandalizing another mom's car.  She swears it was an accident, so Emily tries to get her a diversion if she pays the damages.

Mark wants at least probation since he learned Amma also recently slashed another mom's tires.

Yuma testifies that the restaurant is her father's life, and she's been helping more since he got COVID-19. She sounded bitter that Paulo opened a restaurant nearby since it affected their business, but maintained that Paulo was like family.

Clayton Berger shows a video of Hirato yelling at the customers who don't like his food.

Emily tells Mrs.McKenna that she got her a deal. She's concerned about her anger issues and her since she learned she was recently widowed. Mrs. McKenna admits her children are her world and inquires if Emily has children.

Vic keeps texting Mark, but Mark has to go pick up Lola. She's still working on her recertification. Mark asks her to be his best woman for the wedding and suggests they celebrate.

Then, he slips that Robin confronted Andre when she gets irritated that Andre keeps texting. That gets her moving to confront Robin, only to find a surprise party at the house.

Lola is so pleased, but she thinks the thing about Andre is a story until she sees Amy, Mark, and Robin constantly whispering. Mark tries to defend Robin.

She drags Robin to their bedroom and demands the truth, which he insists he protected their family.

Mark accidentally sent the save the date to the entire HOJ, and everyone has an opinion on how to plan the wedding. He is unsure how to uninvite anyone.

Sara comments that Emily is glowing, and Emily admits she's afraid she's pregnant, which Luke overhears. After everyone leaves, Robin and Lola slow dance.

At the trial the next day, Clayton asks Yuma if her dad only uses his Fuga knife to prepare blowfish and if blowfish poisoning could be transferred if the knife touched something else.

It sounded like it was an accident when Yuma admitted her dad was more forgetful since COVID-19.

Mrs. McKenna became offended when Emily offered additional resources and said with raising the children, and she didn't have time for counseling.

The jury is deadlocked on the sushi case, and Lola urges them all to remember the meaning of family. Paulo approaches Hirato, and the two men make peace.

DA Bravo decides they should dismiss the case.

Luke and Emily disagree on whether to have kids. The show ends with Emily taking a pregnancy test.
