Jenna tries to think to herself how she would invite Matty to prom, but things keep getting in the way, preventing her from asking. Tamara is running the prom committee, but she isn't doing a very good job of it and Lissa takes over. 

Jenna and Kyle are reeled in for prom King and Queen, but it's pretty apparent that the only reason they are there is because they won't win because they are the least popular kids in high school. 

Sadie is ditching calls from her mother and is distracted with Sergio. He tries to talk to her about something, but she puts him off. He shows up with a van he bought and she goes crazy because it means he's not going with her to college. She dumps him in the heat of the moment and when she goes to see him to make it up, Sergio says he can't deal with her any more and he wants the split to stick. Sadie rushes off to Matty, who invites her to prom. 

Jenna gets all ready and writes 'prom?' on balloons and winds up at Tamara's door, inviting her to prom. Tamara accepts her offer while struggling to hold the tears back.
