McSween informs Billy that the Regulators all have been charged in the murders of Baker and Morten, who Billy executed.

They're now wanted men who can be arrested on sight.

Riley's scheme is to have Brady arrest McSween on trumped-up charges and to hold a festival on the same day to keep the Regulators from interfering.

Charlie decides to tail McSween to make sure he makes it to court alive.

Brewer rides into the Regulators hideout with word that McSween is going to be charged with being an accessory to murder and hanged.

The Regulators ride with Billy to intercede.

Jesse warns Riley not to underestimate Billy.

Billy and the Regulators reach Lincoln before McSween and sneak into town, with the festival covering their approach.

They mow down Brady and three of his deputies before anyone can react. Charlie tells McSween to return to his house.

When Billy runs to retrieve the warrant from Brady's body, he get winged and Tom is shot. The Regulators have to hold off Jesse's gang while Billy gets the injured Tom to McSween's home.

Charlie arrives and covers the Regulators' escape.

Billy creates a hiding spot for Tom at the McSween home before he and McSween take off, with Mrs. McSween staying behind.

Jesse's gang arrives at the McSween house and Riley interrogates her. But Jesse pulls him away to continue their pursuit.

Riley blasts Jesse for Billy and the Regulators escaping.

After dark, Billy and McSween return for Tom and Mrs. McSween.

Murphy rails against Billy at Brady's funeral.

Walz chastises Riley for how badly he and Murphy handled the Tunstall situation.

He adds that Catron has appointed a new sheriff for LIncoln County.

Billy says Jesse will try to strike back and the Regulators need to take the fight to him.

Juan's nephew Jose has been tailing Jesse's gang and will lead the Regulators to them.

Billy refuses to let the injured Tom come along this time.

The horse tracks of Jesse's gang splits so Billy is forced to divide the Regulators.

Both groups are soon engaged in firefights with Jesse's men.

Billy gains the high ground and drives off some of Jesse's gang. Then he arrives to time to save Charlie from Jesse.

The new sheriff is Pat Garrett.
