Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 8 revolves around public perception vs who people are.

When Frank learns that an ex-cop is using his name and image to promote a pro-cop organization, he is furious. Garrett advises against doing anything about the situation as it will cause bad blood with cops across the country, but Frank doesn't want anyone putting words in his mouth. Garrett isn't happy that Frank won't follow his advice and that Frank both meets with the group leader and agrees to be on the guy's podcast.

Meanwhile, Erin reconsiders running for DA when an old law school friend assures her that she can help her win. However, when Lisa asks Erin personal questions and tries to convince her that having a career isn't enough to win an election, Erin struggles with the question of whether she's likable enough to people and whether her focus on her career all these years was a mistake.

Elsewhere, Danny and Anthony team up when Anthony's shady cousin Joey gets into trouble with a mob that is responsible for a double homicide, while Eddie and her new partner are both irritated when Jamie won't let them change partners.
