Drusilla had a vision about the obelisk. Angelus reads about it in the paper and gets excited for the evil it will cause.

Buffy and Willow find the floppy disk containing Angel's cure behind Jenny's desk.

A flashback reveals Angel being cursed by the gypsies.

Buffy and Willow share the cure with the Scoobies, but Xander doesn't think Angel should live. Willow offers to run the spell to reverse the spell. The Scoobies break out into a fight.

Doug Perry is murdered by Drusilla and Angelus steals the tomb.

Buffy finds the ring Angel gave to her. She bumps into Kendra while patrolling at night.

Angelus, Spike and Drusilla open up the tomb to reveal the statue of Acathla. Acathla's curse is to suck the world into hell.

Buffy encourages Willow to practice the spell. Kendra gives Buffy the sword which first slayed Acathla; it should have the power to stop the demon curse again.

Angelus tries to perform the ritual to summon Acathla and it fails.

A flashback reveals Angel meeting the demon Whistler. The flashback also shows Angel watching as Buffy is called into being the vampire slayer in Los Angeles. Buffy meets her first Watcher and she slays her first vampire.

Angelus sends a vampire to Sunnydale High to burst into flames and leave a message for Buffy.

Kendra gives Buffy a stake to kill Angelus. Buffy and Angelus fight in the graveyard, but he tells her she's not the target.

Vampires ambush the Scoobies in the library as they perform the ritual. Willow and Giles are knocked out, Xander is injured, and Cordelia makes a run for it.

Drusilla kills Kendra. The vampires take Giles with them.

Buffy arrives back at Sunnydale High to find the library in disarray and Kendra dead. A gun is pointed at her head and she's told to freeze.
