Buffy has a nightmare about Deputy Mayor Allan and Faith trying to drown her. Joyce watches the news report about the body being discovered from the ocean.

Wesley wants Faith and Buffy to look into the death. Faith doesn't mind looking, but Giles and Buffy disagree.

Wesley is speechless when he meets Cordelia for the first time.

Buffy begs Faith to come clean about the accidental murder. Faith declines and insinuates that Buffy will go down too if she tells.

Willow and Buffy's friendship is still tense after the downward spiral.

The Sunnydale police investigate the murder site of Deputy Mayor Allan. Angel puts two and two together that Buffy might be involved because of the blood on her hands.

Mr. Trick has evidence that proves the deputy mayor was killed by a wooden stake. Mayor Wilkins is happy to take down one of the Slayers for the crime.

Faith and Buffy break into Deputy Mayor Allan's office. All of his files are missing; the mayor had shredded them earlier. They discover Mayor Wilkins is evil and working with Mr. Trick.

Buffy begs Faith to come clean again, but she refuses. Faith proclaims that they're better than humans, and their job is to fight as warriors.

The police interrogate Buffy and Faith about the previous night. They both keep to their stories about not knowing anything.

Buffy visits Willow to talk about things. Buffy breaks down in tears and tells her everything about Faith. Willow urges Buffy to tell Giles.

Before Buffy is able to tell Giles the truth, Faith lies to him and says that Buffy killed the deputy mayor. Giles sees through Faith's lies. He and Buffy plan to not tell the Watchers Council, but to seek help for Faith.

Wesley overhears everything; he calls the Watchers Council to tell them everything.

The Scoobies want to hold an intervention for Faith. Xander thinks he can get through to Faith since they hooked-up before, but everything is positive it won't mean anything.

Willow cries in the bathroom over the Xander revelation.

Xander tries to reason with Faith in her motel room; however, she disregards him. She throws him on the bed and chokes him. Angel sneaks into the room and knocks her out. He chains her up in his mansion.

Mr. Trick and Mayor Wilkins view surveillance footage of Buffy and Faith at city hall.

Angel tells Faith to heed his warning about killing without remorse. As he's about to make a breakthrough, the Watchers arrive to take Faith into custody.

Faith breaks free from the Watchers' van and makes a run for it. The Scoobies go on a search to find Faith in Sunnydale.

Buffy finds Faith at the docks; Faith torments Buffy about her secret dark side. Vampires ambush them and they fight. Faith stakes Mr. Trick.

Buffy tells Giles that she won't give up on Faith.

Faith visits Mayor Wilkins and asks him about a job.
