- Ruzek: Kim, we have to communicate with each other. The therapist said we have to talk about what happened to us when Mak was taken. Burgess: I know that. I know, come on, I'm just tired.
- Trudy: At six bucks a cup don't chug it like a 40.
- Voight: You hit the streets alone, don't notify me, so now we got ODs and a narco case. I miss anything? Ruzek: No. Voight: We'll take it. I'll handle Narcotics.
- Ruzek: Tell Makayla that I love her, and she's lucky to have you as a mom.
- Ruzek: I don't really know where to start, here, I just. Look, I'm sorry, Kim. I know that things have been hard. I know that we're, you know. Burgess: We're not us right now. Ruzek: I'm lying there dying and I'm thinking to myself, my God, this is how I'm going to go out. With everything broken. No, uh-uh, never again.I want to fix it. I want our family back to the way that it as. Burgess: Me too. Ruzek: I know I disappointed you when she was taken. Maybe we start with a schedule that works better for us.We keep talking, you know? Burgess: The thing is its been working.This week, Makayla, she seemed better with me. I don't know what to do here, Adam. I don't know how to fix it. Ruzek: Me neither. So we do what's best for her. We don't what's best for our family.
- Ruzek is frustrated when he returns home and Mak is already in bed, and they've missed family dinner together because he and Burgess still aren't communicating properly.
- He heads out to get something to eat on his own and talk things over with others while he plays poker
- Ruzek's old English teacher comes to see him and has a favor to ask.His daughter has become an addict.
- He wants Ruzek to find his daughter Olivia who has been missing for two months.
- Ruzek heads into the office to do some digging into Olivia's disappearance and Trudy is there to help him.
- Ruzek shows up at Olivia's school to look around and see if she's there. He sees a guy who got hit in the head stumble out of a room and fall into another. He tries to treat him and calls for help. He also sees another kid overdosing in another room and goes to attend to him. A high Olivia gives that kid her narcan and is about to pass out.
- Nate,a Narco detective, fills Ruzek in on some big time dealer named Wade who has been likely using Olivia to push the drugs.
- Ruzek tries to work over Olivia befor Narc does. One kid died and another was fine.
- Ruzek plans to go undercover off the information that Oliva gave him for at least two months.
- Oliva takes Ruzek's to Wade's house for a Bulls game. She gets high after testing his latest product and busts the window out.
- Ruzek meets Wade on the roof to talk business. Olivia is too high and Ruzek ends up leaving.
- He contacts Burgess to tell her about a meetup with Wade again but they only have 20 minutes for the team to scramble to get to them in time
- Wade lures Ruzek to a location and they can't track him. Wade is paranoid and thinks that Ruzek is a cop and has Olivia ziptie him
- Wade threatens to shoot Olivia in the mouth/head if Ruzek doesn't take drugs to prove he isn't a cop so eventually, he does.
- Ruzek has a bad reaction to the drugs. He sends Olivia to get his truck, and he alerts Burgess and Atwater. He tells her to tell Makayla that he loves her.
- Wade catches Olivia going through Ruzek's truck to find Naracan and sees the police vest. They tussle and the gun goes off.
- They catch and arrest Wade.
- Kim gets to Adam in time to save him.
- Olivia got a through and through but she's fine and her father is coming to see her
- Ruzek goes home and Makayla is asleep. He talks to Kim about what's not working but they don't know how to fix things. He apologizes to her for disappointing her when Mack was gone, and he states that they have to do waht's best for their family. He leaves and goes back to the undercover apartment, presumably to stay.
