Discovering the Josh doesn't love her motivates Rebecca to leave West Covina. She calls her former boss and sets up a return to New Yor City.

While on the plane, she falls asleep next to her therapist, Dr. Akopian, who as a Dream Ghost, takes Rebecca through her psyche to examine the real reason why Rebecca is running away, and helps her discover that despite her denial of it, she does have people in her life who love her.

Concerned for Rebecca, and all unaware that she is safe, Paula, Josh, Darryl and Greg all meet at Rebecca's apartment to try and figure out where Rebecca is. 

When they discover the truth about what Rebecca's plans are, they each lament what the loss of Rebecca from West Covina would mean for them. 

As Rebecca's Dream Ghost takes her through various monumental moments in her life, Rebecca discovers that not only do people love her, but what her true passion is in life, in musical theater. 

Rebecca also realizes that Josh Chan is a lifelong dream, but that he's also an illusion and that it's time for her to move on. 

Paula tells Josh that he can make her stay in West Covina, which prompts him to ask her an important question that could change everything that Rebecca has been working towards fixing.
