Recap

The team falls into the Time Stream with everyone holding onto Cliff. Vic deploys the Cyborg Pod, which encapsulates everyone.

They try to form a plan but Larry and Cliff can’t see the point of going back just soo Immortus can beat them again.

Vic and Cliff start to argue which overwhelms Jane who tells them to shut up. The team fills Vic in on Rita’s condition.

Keeg jumps out of Larry and zips into the Time Stream. When he returns, he hops into Vic and relays what he learned to Grid, Cyborg’s operating system.

Vic explains that Keeg can sense longevity on the other side of three Time Stream portals. Cliff is skeptical.

Vic shows off some new tech, removable knuckle plates that he can use to recall anyone holding one. He gives them each an hour to go through the various portals, find and acquire the longevity, before he returns them to the Pod.

Vic opens the Pod so they can see the three portals they need to use. Rouge heads off on her own. Cliff goes solo as well. Jane and Larry head for the third one together.

Alone in his pod, Vic asks Grid to send out an S.O.S. on any and all frequencies.

Rouge’s portal sends her to the Ant Farm in 1949. She finds Niles’s office, where he’s working on Project Immortus.

Jane and Larry arrive at Doom Manor in 1996. They walk past Cliff’s room where he’s standing still, looking out the window.

Jane realizes they’re going to have to talk to Niles. Keeg suddenly emerges from Larry and takes off. Larry follows, leaving Jane to deal with Niles.

Paraguay, 1948. Willoughby’s getting drunk at the bar. Niles walks in and tells Willoughby he’s got the longevity talisman. He realizes Willoughby’s drunk and reminds him Von Fuchs’ men are after him. Willoughby agrees to magic him away but needs to pee first.

While Niles waits, he hangs the talisman around his neck, missing the portal opening which delivers Cliff to the bar from the Time Stream.

Niles turns around and sees Cliff, recognizing Robotman from sketches he’s made. Cliff confronts him with their past which this Niles has no idea about.

Willoughby returns and asks what’s going on. Cliff gets impatient and grabs Niles. WIlloughby freezes him with a deanimation spell. Or Cliff’s Parkinson’s causes him to get stuck.

Larry follows Keeg to the greenhouse where he finds the Negative Spirit. Keeg is intrigued but Larry tells Keeg to get back inside him. Larry tells the Negative Spirit that he’s from the future where he’s dying.

The spirit flies back inside and returns possessing 1996 Larry so he can talk and give him more bandages to cover the areas where his blood is soaking through.

Jane finds herself in Niles’s workshop. She finds all the VHS tapes of his interviews with all the alts. She hears the clamor of voices in her head again.

Niles rolls into the workshop and sees Jane. She turns around and he realizes she’s not the Jane he knows. She tells him they know everything about him in the future.

In his Pod, Vic tries futilely to connect with someone with his S.O.S. message.

In the Ant Farm, Rouge sneaks into Niles’s office as a mouse. Niles is cutting pieces of the talisman off.

In 1996, Jane tells Niles why she’s here but he’s not willing to offer her any of the talisman.

She tells him the alts are all gone and the puzzle holds the key. She asks Niles for his help.

In Paraguay, Willoughby and Niles can’t get Cliff to let go. Cliff says he understands Niles’s motivations better now and that Cliff wants more time with Rory just as Niles wants to outlive Dorothy.

In a classroom, Deric is showing Mr. Invincible to his class. He turns Mr. Invincible on and Vic’s S.O.S. message is heard. Deric responds and Vic tells him he’s in the Time Stream.

At the Ant Farm, Rouge knocks Niles out but is interrupted from stealing the talisman by a knock at the door. 1949 Rouge walks in to find future Rouge as Dr. Caulder in his wheelchair. She offers him some files. Dr. Caulder rolls towards her to prevent her noticing the unconscious real Niles on the ground.

Before she leaves 1949 Rouge pitches herself to fake Niles as a good recruit for his project. Future Rouge as Niles tells her she is not cut out for the Bureau.

As she leaves, the real Niles wakes up and crawls over to an alarm button.

Future Rouge turns back into a rat and tries to escape but 1949 Rouge is waiting outside the door to catch her.

Larry talks with Negative Spirit and wonders if he can take care of Keeg when Larry dies.

The Negative Spirit says that’s not possible and Larry gets upset. Keeg jumps over to 1996 Larry and he and Negative Spirit discuss the details.

Niles and Jane sit down for a talk. Niles has the memory erasing drink at hand.

Jane explains that she has to say something to solve the puzzle, but she doesn’t know what she has to say. Niles suggests that she does know.

Vic and Deric try to solve the escape route puzzle together. One of Deric’s students, Joy, figures out the Math.

Vic asks how she knows how to calculate time portals. Deric explains that Vic taught her and the others. This classroom is in Vic’s future.

In Paraguay, Willoughby and Niles manage to free Niles from Cliff. As they try to escape Con Fuchs’ henchmen arrive. Willoughby sits down to start drinking. He unfreezes Cliff but Von Fuchs’s men arrive with electric axes.

Niles dispatches one of the goons. Cliff attempts to take out the other. He kicks the goon out through the door but ends up stuck in kick pose and falls over.

1949 Rouge interrogates future Rouge in rat form. She lets her out of the cage to shift and she shifts into future Rouge. 1949 Rouge thinks it’s a ruse. Future Rouge reminds her of how their parents ran them out of town when they manifested their powers.

Niles and Willoughby manage to get Cliff back on his feet. A henchman runs in with an electric weapon and Cliff grabs Niles and throws him out of the way, inadvertently breaking his back over the bar in the process.

Rouge and Rouge had it out, resulting in Future Rouge beating up 1949 Rouge.

Joy finds the way out of the Time Stream. Vic questions her calculations because Grid doesn’t see the portal Joy says is the way out. Deric reminds him that their set up is more advanced than Grid because they’re in the future.

Future Vic walks into the classroom. He reassures Pod Vic that it’ll work. Grid alerts Vic that new coordinates have been received. Pod Vic recalls the knuckles.

Rouge is recalled before she can Weapon stamp 1949 Rouge to death.

Cliff is distraught over the injury he’s caused Niles, likely the injury that put Niles into his wheelchair for life. As he’s apologizing, he realizes he could take the talisman off the unconscious Niles. Willoughby points out that without the talisman, Niles will die.

Cliff gives the talisman back and he is recalled.

Keeg and the Negative Spirit finish conversing and Keeg returns to Larry. The Negative Spirit intimates that Keeg no longer thinks he’ll throw Larry into the sun. He hints that Larry and Keeg will become a new sun. Larry finds this frustratingly cryptic. He is recalled.

Jane tells Niles about her progress. He proposes that when Jane solves her puzzle, she’ll free Kay to search for her peace. Jane questions why Kay gets peace but not the alts. He says that Kay was the one who suffered. Jane refutes that.

Suddenly, all the alts are present in the room, standing behind Niles. Hammerhead urges Jane to say the words. Kay comes to stand next to Jane. She puts a hand on her shoulder and encourages Jane to admit that the trauma happened to every alt Kay created. Being raped by her father is the core memory of every alt.

The puzzle appears on the table in front of Jane with one piece missing. She finds the piece in her hand. She sets it in place and the gray surface transforms into a swirling pattern. Jane finds herself in the Underground again. The doors to the train open and everyone is waiting for her onboard.

Kay invites her onboard. The train pulls out and the Underground crumbles. Kay tells Jane they don’t need it anymore. They are going to see what Kay has been building. The lights change and everyone’s face has an expression of wonder. The portal opens behind Jane and she is recalled.

In his interview room, Niles sits alone, smiling and contemplating the glass of memory-wiping drink. We do not see him drink it.

In the Pod, the team is disheartened that none of them were able to get a piece of the talisman to save Rita or restore their own longevity. Jane states they can do anything if they’re together. She introduces herself as The Kaleidoscope but isn’t sure what that means.

Vic agrees that they just need to go back and put up a fight. Even Cliff throws in with this plan. Vic gives Grid directions to go to the home coordinates and they head back to Immortus and the Butts.

Doom Patrol Season 4 Episode 11 Quotes

Rouge: Who the hell is talking?
Vic: It’s Grid, my operating system. Usually, I’m the only one who can hear it, but Keeg must’ve hacked into it.
Rouge: You have a voice in your head that talks to you?
Cliff: Fuck it. That’s not even the strangest thing about him.

What’s the point of going back so Immortus can finish putting her foot up our ass, or so the Butts can take a bite out of it?
