On Fire Country Season 1 Episode 5, the Station 42 crew must protect Edgewater and take cover when an extremely rare and dangerous fire tornado leaves lives in peril.

The episode opened the way the last one ended, with Bode, Diego, and Cara stranded in an ambulance that had been tossed from the road by a fallen tree.

The situation is further complicated by a fire tornado, which threatens to devastate the area -- to say nothing of the fact that Diego still bears a grudge against Bode for declaring

Cara is badly injured, and her situation gets worse by the minute.

The ambulance is separated from the rest of the Three Rock and 42 crews, who are dealing with problems of their own.

Eve faces a mutiny thanks to her decision to send Cole back to prison, and Jake, Vince, Sharon, and Gabriela are tasked with protecting a team of young soccer players.

Everything works out okay as the kids are rushed to safety, and Eve has a change of heart about Cole.

Sadly, Cara is not so lucky.

She succumbs to her injuries as Jake declares his undying love for her via radio.

The episode ends with Bode and Gabriela making peace with oner another at Cara's funeral.
