Sam, Jay, and the ghosts are watching a TV movie about Christmas romance.

Thorfinn hates Christmas and doesn't like seeing the holiday decorations in his room. Sam loves Christmas and doesn't agree. Thorfinn doesn't like how people do decorations that mock and play off his culture.

Jay's sister Bela is coming to stay for the holidays at Woodstone Manor. Bela brought someone to the Manor; his name is Eric.

Sam and Jay ask Bela and Eric if they're dating. Bela laughs and says they've been friends for a long time; they're not dating. Bela isn't interested in Eric; she thinks Eric is too into her and doesn't like how he always helps her.

Sam is feeling inspired to create a real-life rom-com and get Bela together with Eric.

Sasappis, Alberta, Pete, and Flower want to sing carols to Sam as a gift for Christmas morning. Isaac lets slip that he and Nigel haven't kissed at all since they started dating months ago. Isaac says he and Nigel are going at their own pace.

Trevor is upset that Sam is trying to set Bela up with someone. He's still interested in Bela. Sasappis comes up with the idea of Trevor possessing Eric's body so that he can be with Bela.

Sam sets Bela and Eric up to create a gingerbread house; it's a scheme to get them to fall in love. As Sam leaves the room, Trevor and Sasappis convince Alberta and Flower to join in on their plan to possess Eric. Trevor starts texting to Bela.

Jay tells Sam that she should get Eric to go outside to chop wood as Bela loves videos of woodsmen. Sam discovers she's not in the "core" family group thread.

Trevor's text goes through to Bela. She agrees to the plan to get Eric possessed.

Bela manipulates Jay into telling her about his experience of being possessed and how it happened to him.

Pete comforts Isaac about his nerves over kissing Nigel. Isaac encourages Pete to not give up after he was rejected by Alberta.

Bela tells Sam that she could see something happen between her and Eric during their holiday weekend. After Sam leaves the room, Bela tells the truth to Eric about Trevor and the ghosts. She asks Eric if he'd let Trevor possess his body and get electrocuted to make it happen. Eric reluctantly agrees to be possessed as a gift to Bela.

Nigel and Isaac find their way below the mistletoe. Isaac wants to kiss Nigel, but he facepalms Nigel instead as a reflux reaction. Nigel ends the relationship because he doesn't think Isaac is ready to date.

As Jay and Sam go to bed, Bela instructs Eric on how to get electrocuted and get possessed. Sam busts them before they get through the plan. Jay and Bela get into an argument; Jay calls out Bela for her string of bad relationships.

On Christmas Day, Sam tries to screw the lamp back on the wall. She gets electrocuted and is possessed by Thorfinn. "Sam" stops the ghosts from singing "Silent Night."
