- It opens with Bat Lady reflecting on a train holding children who were taken by Nazies during the war escaping from the train and being lured in by a youn girl with butterflies. Lizzie Sobeck
- Sunglasses man calls Bat Lady out on telling Mickey about his father. They're still searching for Ashley themselves.
- Mickey and Shira have to commit Kitty again with no contact.
- Rachel returns home and thinks about Octoface chasing her and her hurting herself in the process. She cries.
- Neither Rachel or Mickey are at school which bugs Troy.
- Whitney, Ema's crush, frits with her.
- The Bolitars visit and say they're throwing their 49th anniversary party there. Shira has to deal with all of her mother's judgement.
- An actress shows up to host the school play of Phantom of the Opera which excites Spoon.
- Spoon takes them to his hideaway. He shows Mickey how Dylan and Ashley were both disappeared on the same day 27 years apart and are connected.
- They go search Ashley's locker and its empty. They ponder the survelliance and Spoon lets them know that he hacked into already and they take turns going through the footage.
- Ema finds footage of Ashley hiding in the hall and looking afraid.
- She also sees footage of Whitney checking her out.
- After Rachel and Mickey work on their group project, they deal with the party and the Taylors showed up. It's awkward with Troy there and he tries to talk to Rachel. When he grabs her, she smacks him having flashbacks to Octoface.
- Troy asks Shira about her involvement with his father. Shira deals with her mother judging her for not being a parent yet. She escapes and Hannah joins her. They talk and make up with each other.
- Mickey overhears his grandparents arguing about how they're grieving Brad.
- He flashes back to when he and Brad were camping and Brad needed them to leave urgently and had a warning.
- Spoon and Ema see that Ashley got into an argument with the cheerleaders and disappearas off camera again.
- they notice that Sunglasses Man went to Ashley's locker in the wee hours of the morning and it was already empty except for the hippo magnet at Bat Lady's house.
- Mickey goes to talk to Bat Lady alone.
- He follows Sunglasses man to Bat Lady's garage and sneaks in, wonders around, but they were waiting for him.
- Hannah returns after the party to give Shira a proper welcome back with a kiss. They make out with each other.
- Bat Lady is looking for Ashley too. He asks her about his father, and she says that they're connected and dealt with the same thing.
- She mentions that the folklore about Lizzy Sobeck was false because she was there. The magical butterflies that were part of the story was false because the butterflies were carved into trees and used to lure the children into the woods where Nazis murdered most of the kids.
- The man who murdered her father and many of those same kids is identical to the EMT who was there at the accident.
- Ema and Spoon find out that Rachel was the one who cleared out Ashley's locker.
- We see Rachel. She's in a room and has the blue butterfly on her shoulder. She's looking at photos of her and Mickey.
- She was there the night that Mickey and his father fled thier camping site but someone snatcher her while she was watching them.
