The woman Stabler helped several years ago tets the attention of an Officer Logan and then gets kicked out of a bar later. Some guys harass her. She gets in a carwith soeone she seems to know, seeming out of it. She collapses. Later she wakes up to find herself tied up in a car trunk.  She sobs as she is carried away.

At home Stabler calls Kathleen and then goes to get coffee.

Jet and Bashir are interviewed by IAB.

Stabler has another voicemail from Benson.

Reyes says over and over he wasn't there and doesn't know what happened.

Stabler finds a foil in the trash. He calls Eli to check in. Eli finfs it weird and is freaked out. Stabler insists he's fine and hangs up. He sighs to himself.

Stabler goes to see what Joe Jr is doing. Joe is thrilled to see him.    They discuss what happened at dinner. Also Joe Jr has a new girl who he says is 10/10. Stabler wants to talk bout Joe says it's not a good time and he'll call him.  He gives him a bottle of wine which Stabler rejects.

Stabler comes to see Bell. He says Reyees and Jet know better than to lie for him. Bell says he did what he had to do. She needs him to see how this plays out. Stabler says that's not part of his nature.

Someone follows Stabler in the parking lot. She's wearing a hoodie. Stabler grabs her. She says she's sorry. She's Heidi, she's friends with... she's doing this all wrong. She tells him something happened to Rita and gives him the copy of The Count of Monte Cristo.

Stabler questions a bartender who is a perfect doppelganger for Jack Webb. He says he saw her get into a sports car but his eyes aren't good so he can't describe it. Heidi asks Stabler if he thinks Rita is okay.

Rita is blindfolded and tied to a chair. The kidnapper touches her.

Heidi shows Stabler the apartment. She says Rita was trying to get everything together to be with her son. She got a text and she knows it wasn't from Rita. She says there was a new guy Rita was working with. She met him on Long Island at a party house but she wasn't sure exactly where. Stabler is surprised to find a camera. He finds a video of Rita and some guy. Heidi thinks it's the party Rita was takling about.

Vargas says there is no GPS on the phone and has to use landmarks etc. He goes on and on about what he's going to do. He's honored Stabler came to him but is upset Stabler doesn't consider him a member of the team.  It'll take him a few hours to do thihs.

Shah isn't replacing anyone but Carisi is worried about the case because of Stabler's actions.

Jet and Reyes don't like Shah. They check Stabler's phone and find he's in Long Island.

Stabler gets caught snooping and taken to an underground poker game. When he asks questions a lady at the game says hshe's a cop and has Logan lock him up.

Some cop calls Stabler arrogant and says be glad you're not being charged. He goes to a nearby diner and asks a waitress if she's seen Rita. She says she looks like Christine who busses tables at night and never showed up for her shift two nights ago. Some guy says he knows Christine and is a journalist who knows everyone. Stabler asks him about the chief and the people at the poker table. They'll bury two missing girls. e can't introduce Stabler to Christine's family today but he'll let them know.

Stabler talks to the family. The parents say Christine worked at a party in Westbrook to earn money for a prom dress. The moter says they argued and cries. The father goes to check on her. Stabler sees a kid crying on the steps. Stabler asks him to tell him what he knows. The boy says Mom and Christine were yelling at each other. One time he saw Christine hide something. He knows where. He brings it to Stabler. It's a pone with no history.  Stabler calls Vargas on the phone.

Vargas gets the one number the phone called. Stabler calls it and gets someone breathing heavily.

Stabler lies awake in bed having flashbacks of rescuing Rita. Hiss phone rings.  Nope, not his. The burner. New message. It's a videoof Rita screaming for help. Stabler grabs his keys and runs out.

 The cop blocks him. Cheif Bonner wants to see him. She says this is her investigation and her town and she won't have him harassing her residents. . He walks into a motel room and finds the whole team there.

Jet has something. Rita is being held in a World War II bunker. Stabler won't let anyone come with him.

The team stays put and Cargas helps Stabler find the bunker. He opens it and goes inside. He finds Christine. Some masked guy shows up and Stabler fights with him. He chases the guy up the ladder but he's gone. Stabler unties Christine. He asks her about Rita. He sees a shovel. Christine points above that. Stabler gets out of the bunker and finds what looks like a grave. He finds Rita's body.

Chief Bonner says she's sorry about Rita. Bell calls. Reyes says that Rita has been dead over 48 hours. Stabler tells Bashir and Reyes they are just observers.

Christine is in t he hospital now and her parents are happy she is back. Stabler asks her privately about Cahill. Christine says he hosted the parties but she doesn't know if that's who kidnapped her. She was grabbed from behind and woke up in the trunk of a car. Stabler asks if she remembers the voice? That she'll never forget.

The cops find a bunch of other bodies.
