Law & Order: SVU Season 19 Episode 7 features Benson trying to build rapport with a rape victim who is reluctant to speak and who is hiding more than one terrible secret.

SVU is called in when a woman named Laurel is found unconscious underneath a dinosaur exhibit at the museum. Laurel claims she was raped, but tells Benson there's no point to talking about it because she doesn't remember anything.

Laurel rambles and talks about seemingly unrelated things and Benson has to try to empathize with her to get her to tell her story. Eventually, Laurel is able to remember enough of her evening for the detectives to ID her attacker. However, when they pay him a visit, they find he was fatally stabbed with a pair of scissors and they suspect Laurel was responsible.

Benson struggles to get a confession out of Laurel, while Laurel tries to turn the tables and get Benson to talk about how not having a father affected her and makes her feel sad, lonely and unloved.

Fin and Barba worry about Benson, but she insists on interrogating this suspect her own way.
