Bo is coping with Kenzi's departure by painting her apartment, Dyson is also there to distract her, but she has lost her drive to feed.

At the Dal, an attempt is made on a Japanese fae warrior's life. After a drunk night out on the town, he enlists Bo and Tamsin's help to track down who is trying to assassinate him.

Lauren and Dyson are pondering the fate of 4 people that died in an elevator crash. Three were human and one was fae, but none have visible injuries. Lauren is also recieving death threats since she turned the Morrigan human.

It turns out the Japanese warrior Musashi is being targeted because he is set to ascend to king of his anscestors. Originally, they believe his brother Craig is responsible, but it turns out to be his sister Tomoe. Tomoe doesn't want him to die, but only to scare him into foregoing the ascension process. He is not the warrior he claims and if he ascends under this falsehood he will become a filth eating toilet fae.

Tomoe is the actual "exalted one" meant to ascend. After his dishonor is exposed, a vengeful Musashi stabs Bo. Without her healing ability, she ends up in the hospital. Tamsin forces her to admit the real problem, her fear of losing her loved ones. The admission cures her and allows her to feed on Dyson.

The fae body in the morgue comes alive after hours, seemingly occupied by a new being. This fae will clearly pose a threat to our favorite fae, but for now the gang is oblvious and enjoying a movie night at home.
