Xander and Greg pilot a ship away from Las Venus, leaving Lt. Collins to help the fighters gain their freedom.

Jett cry over Ralen's body. Ralen's eyes suddenly open, causing Jett to scream. Ralen explains that he was playing dead. The ship is attacked by Sumi marauders.

They double back on the marauders, causing the Sumi's torpedoes to detonate on their own ships.

The Earth Com ship makes an emergency landing on a nearby planet.

On Aluna 4, an Outer Rim thulium mining colony, they survive the crash but the ship is inoperable.

On Earth, Jax and Zazie have drinks. Shral arrives and asks her for the intel from Aleka.

The four Earthlings walk to a mining settlement which looks deserted. They take shelt in a church only to find themselves faced with a gun-wielding woman.

The woman, Rachel, and her father, Gorch, explain the situation and they reach an agreement.

Shral and Jax meet about Aleka's intel. He asks her to talk to her mother and arrange a meeting between himself and Tierney so Osborn get get a portal device to allow him to travel freely throughout the universe.

On Aluna 4, the Sumi marauders arrive, looking for Xander's ship and crew. Xander offers a plan. When the Sumi arrive, they ask Gorch for their thulium. When they ask for survivors from an Earth Com vessel, his men bring out Jett and Ralen in chains.

Jett masquerades as Xander. When the Sumi try to take them, Xander and Gorch attack and they kill the two Sumi.

The residents appear and Greg volunteers Earth Com to fight any new Sumi who arrive.

Jax goes to visit Eve. She shares her experience with The Ancients and asks to speak to Tierney. Eve says she'll send Tierney a message.

Xander wants to give the Sumi the impression of being heavily guarded and keep them away. Ralen draws his attention to the fact that the Sumi weapons were manufactured by Parallax Galactic, Harlan Fried's company.

Greg and Rachel set up a makeshift triage unit. They talk about his relationship with Jax and Xander. Greg talks out how he's changed.

Ralen and Gorch are examining the mines when Ralen confronts Gorch about his fighting technique which looks more Zatarian than human. He accuses him of hiding his true identity. Gorch pulls a gun on him.

Jax tries to resume her drink with Zazie but Shral interrupts them again to tell Jax that Xander and Ralen were shot down and a Sumi fleet are being dispatched.

Ralen bests Gorch in combat and forces him to explain himself. Gorch was a smuggler and thief who stole ID papers off a soldier named Gorch and assumed his identity on Aluna 4 in order to raise Rachel in a life removed from danger and criminality.

Ralen shares Matta's loss and promises to keep Gorch's secret.

Shral waits for Tierney at the bar. She startles him by appearing suddenly and he draws a weapon on her.

Osborn, through Shral, offers Tierney an anti-matter plasma weapon for the portal instrument. Tierney wants to use it to destroy the Ancients.

The Sumi arrive and the residents fight back according to Xander's plan. Casualties are suffered. Xander calls a retreat. Ralen lures some Sumi into the mines.They trip a wire and set off an explosion.

A Sumi ship traps Ralen but Jett brings the repaired ship and saves him.

The fight goes badly and even Gorch is killed. The Sumi suddenly stop firing and Xander goes out and finds Aleka there. She tells him Jax asked for her help and he is free to go. The planet will be safe from Sumi marauders now.

They bury Gorch. Rachel is offered a ride back to Earth but she wants to stay. Greg chooses to stay as well. He sends a message for Jax back with Xander.

Ralen and Xander walk away and Xander informs Ralen that their next mission is to prove Parallax is working with the Sumi Empire and providing weapons to the pirates.

Tierney pops in to help Eve escape.
