Recap

Maynard uses the letters to rouse a bunch of reports with their salacious contents.

Meanwhile, E.B. is yukking it up at the barbershop.

Ennis looks on at the festivities with a smirk on his face.

Sister Alice is preaching. Birdy tells one of the capped fellows that she's had a talk with Alice about going off-script.

Perry is there and sees a case filled with artifacts. Inside is memorabilia such as Sister Alice's baptismal dress.

They also have a photo of child adoptions.

Later, he sits with the crew while a doctor administers vitamins and saline to Sister Alice.

Perry and Pete try to talk out George's final actions and MO, but they're coming up empty.

Perry wants to talk with Officer Drake about the report.

They're back in court again for Arraignment Part 2. The courtroom is packed. E.B. seems confident but doesn't approach the judge with respect, getting called out.

Everything goes awry when the judge asks E.B. how his client pleads, and Emily says guilty.

After a ruckus, she changes her plea.

Maynard wants the bail set in the amount of $25,000, sending E.B. into a panic. It gets worse when the judge agrees with Maynard. Della eyes Perry.

Della sees things from the woman's perspective. Everybody is letting Emily down. Matthew lied, too, but nobody cares about that because he's rich and she's a slut.

She leaves Perry speechless.

Drake is writing parking tickets when Perry arrives. It doesn't go well. Thank goodness, since Ennis is spying.

Pete discovered that George was an accountant at a casino for a while.

Perry then sends Pete on to find as much as he can on Paul Drake.

Paul and his wife, Claire, are at a street market when Ennis pops up to intimidate Paul.

Sister Alice visits Emily to commiserate with her woman to woman.

That female pilot is in a dress talking with Perry at the plane. They're visiting the casino together. I think.

George wasn't fired. He was influenced by the church and spouting about the den of inequity when he quit.

Perry's female friend wants to get into the fountain after their fun night.

She doesn't even bother lifting her dress. Perry climbs into the fountain with her for a kiss.

E.B. is reading the morning paper. He brushes his teeth and swishes blood down the sink.

Della arrives at his house and opens the front door. He's dolefully looking out the window looking at a hummingbird.

Perry finds Drake again. Armed with his reports, Perry wants to know why he's holding out, but Paul punches him in the face and then in the gut.

Ennis visits an Asian whorehouse. He's not there for a roll in the hay but to get the paperwork.

Seems like a payment. Yep. He threatens to shut the place down in a heartbeat.

Clara is super excited about baby powder, but Paul has a hard time matching her enthusiasm.

She took food from Ennis, and Paul is not pleased about it. He's feeling guilty that he beat down Perry. But Clara doesn't care about that man because she cares about her family, and she wants Paul to do whatever Ennis says not for Ennis, but for the family.

E.B. is asking someone for a small loan.

Instead of helping, the man says to plead out the case, don't drag him into it, and don't call him again.

Matthew defends his life to his father. Herman wants Matthew to help him build a city of faith, of family, far from the corruption of Los Angeles.

Della takes a document to Emily, and she gets the runaround. She spots Barbara sitting in the room with her. The matron is supposed to be with Emily at all times. Della begins calling out for Emily who is being tortured in a utility closet.

No surprise, but it's Ennis.

Perry and Pete chat. They've been fired. But Perry thinks E.B. will come through. This case really has its hooks in them, they both admit.

Paul is waiting for Drake by his car. Perry doesn't recognize him at first. Paul has been looking for Perry, wondering why Perry is pushing so hard for Emily. Because she's innocent. Paul finally tells Perry what he found at the scene and gives him the partial plate.

There is a weird play happening at the church in which Sister Alice is the captain, sitting at the bottom of a boat. She gets up, and something is wrong.

Perry is driving like a maniac scaring the shit out of Pete.

They're on the way to see George's body to match the plates.

Sister Alice is hearing voices. She asks Birdy if she hears the voices, falls into the boat, and begins convulsing.

Perry and Pete are with the dead bodies, and there's a nude man splayed spread-eagled that they have to move to get to the back.

They find George. His head has been sewn back together. Perry places the plate into his mouth. Yep. He was murdered.

The whole church looks on as a doctor administers a shot during her convulsions.

Justice for Charlie Dodson; the noose for his mother.

Maynard

[talking to a reporter] A whore? No, I wouldn't say that. Have you ever heard of a whore who killed her own baby? This is much worse than that.
