Lorenzo throws a welcome home party for himself, where he decides to anoint Dru as his heir apparent, much to Cane’s chagrin. He plans to hand things to Dru, send Diana to school, and keep Cane where he is.

Tariq is denied bail. But sensing that he may be able to take his case before an appellate judge, Tariq once again agrees to help Tate in exchange for his influence. And it works, with Tariq getting bail and being released with an ankle monitor.

Monet confronts Diana about helping Lorenzo spring free, and Diana questions why it seems like Monet isn’t excited to have Lorenzo home.

Monet tells Mecca that he can meet Zeke and later finds out about Tariq’s arrest. Knowing that information about her family could come out because of the case, she offers to pay Davis to keep her in the loop.

After telling the family they are no longer working with Tariq, Monet and Cane decide they still need the CourseCorrect money to pay for Davis. And Cane suggests using Brayden to run a meeting, organizing a meeting between Monet and Brayden.

Tariq breaks up with Lauren and then cuts Brayden off for not listening to him when he tells him to stay away from Cane. Not knowing who to trust, Tari confides in Effie, and the two hook up.

Brayden and Monet meet, but Monet doesn’t want to work with him.

Later, Tariq and Brayden bury the hatchet and come clean about everything. Tariq, Effie, and Brayden agree to work together with Monet.

Monet tells Mecca that she can no longer see him and can’t meet Zeke.

Diana tells Lorenzo that Monet made an exit plan that didn’t include him.

After initially not wanting to meet Lorenzo, Mecca tells Cane that he wants to meet him.

Saxe overhears Lauren telling Jenny that she doesn’t want to testify against Tariq. He also learns that Lauren was wearing a wire.
