- Juana and her sister among others go on a long trek and cross the border into the US illegally.
- They encounter Carlos who tells them that they're headed to Heritage House in Sonoma to meet a relative there who can help him.
- Border Patrol rolls up on them and the gang and Carlos, Juana, and her sister all take off together while others get rounded up.
- Meanwhile, at Heritage House, Joe is walking through his valley and checking the grapes. His daughter Veronica wants to have a talk with him about taking over the business from him. She thinks now is her time. He tells her to show him something good
- Mateo also has some ideas for the business and wants a bigger role, but Joe insists that Mateo isn't a wine maker and that's the only reason Veronica is heading things more.
- Joe notices a new employee, Daniela, and asks if she has papers Mateo overhears and vouches for Daniela. But he realizes that Danila doesn't have papers and tells her about someone on the land who provides papers.
- Joe tells Letty that Mateo wants to be a winemaker and suspects she puts him up to it.
- Veronica approaches her sister Carmen to have her babysit since she'll be pulling an ll nighter and her husband Michael can't watch. Carmen shows Veronica a sketch for a new wine bottle, and she has he mind set on selling wine to a target demo in their 20s which Veronica thinks is impossible.
- Carlos offers Juana and her sister a chance to get papers from his brother at the Heritage House Vineyard, and they offer up a cousin who can give them a ride.
- The family prepares for the return and visit from eldest son Antonio who is arriving back home from NYC, and he and his father have a tense relationship.
- Antonio's sexuality may be an issue for Joe.
- Lettie gets a call to the school that Junior was found in a confessional having sex with a girl and a new Father, Ramos, found drugs in Junior's possession. Lettie knows Ramos, he's her ex.
- Antonio takes a tour of the winery and he warns Veronica about their father.
- Mateo takes care of the costs of Daniela's papers
- Juana, Carlos, and her sister arrive at a house to see Carlos' cousin. It's shady and Juana is uncomfortable. they give them drinks and want to take the girls.
- Joe meets with Margaret, his ex-wife, to tell her he knows she did something to the shareholders in his company. She tells him that she bought those shares and intends to buy it out until she takes over his company in honor of her father who died drunk and penniless when Joe took over his vineyard.
- One of the men attacks Carlos while the other one puts the girls in the truck. Carlos stabs and kills the man.
- Juana and her sister see a bunch of girls in a shed and rescue them. They all take off and Juana's sister is shot beforehand.
- JOe asks Antonio when was the last time he heard from his mother, Margaret, and he states he didn't hear anything from her in two years. Joe tells Antonio that Margaret is plotting a hostile takeover.
- Joe wants Antonio to help outwiththe company because he doesn't think Veronica has it in her to get that dirty.
- they drop Juana's sister off at the hospital and Juana and Carlos leave her and set out for Sonoma.
- Joe names Veronica CEO of the company and tells her not to screw it up. They toast to it. On her way home from a late night Veronica responds to a text from her husband and hits a man. She calls 911 and tells them a guy has been hit but when she sees another car coming she ends the call and leaves. She's an emotional wreck when she gets home and her husband tries to figure ou what happened.
- Antonio gives Margaret all the inside information about the shares and who has all the power to his mother Margaret. They're working together to take over the company from Joe. Antonio has discovered that his father hasn't left any of the shares at all to Mateo, his stepson, and Lettie probably doesn' know it.
- Matthew bonds with Carmen and offers to introduce her to some of his clients in marketing when she impresses him with a mixed drink.
- A sheriff shows up a the home during the anniversary dinner and informs them that one of his workers, Delgado, go hit and killed the previous night. the sheriff tells Joe that Delgado was dealing work papers and they found a mock up for phony socials for Daniela. the sheriff tells Joe that he either turn Daniela over to ICE or she works there on and he hopes no one else finds out.
- Juana and Carlos show up at the vineyard. Carlos reunies with his brother Roberto. He goes by Billy now. He and Juana seem to hit it off. Roberto aka Billy gives Carlos his new social and information: Jose Sandoval aka Joe.
- Joe fires Daniela. Lettie is shocked by his actions but doesn't say anything. She remembers their roots. Lettie was Juana.
- Billy shares with Lettie that he hopes to one day own the Vineyard and make it his own. He gives her her papers and calls her Leticia. She prefers Letty.
- Junior is wasted at the party
- Mateo sees Daniela leaving and asks where she's going. He tells her that Joe fired her.
- Mateo confronts Joe and tells him he knows who he really is and that his father told him everything. Joe says that Mateo's father stabbed him in the back and cites all the stuff that Mateo's father did.
- Mateo quits and tells Joe to get his privileged son to do what he does.
- They made a whole scene at the party.
- JOe sees Junior passed out and throws him in the pool.
- Lettie confronts Joe on never accepting Mateo because he was Billy's son and how she doesn't recognize him anymore.
- Joe looks at the old truck they first drove there and hits the fields to work the vineyard with the others.
- Mateo sees a new vineyard space for sale and plans to buy it, with Daniela by his side.
- Veronica frets over the police seeking a suspect.
- Lettie goes to see Ramos/Billy to ask him why he left, and he doesn't answer her and tells her to go back to his brother.
