Many farmers are worried about whether they can pay their bills while waiting for the co-op to be a success. The debt relief is on hold because white farmers claim the program is reverse discrimination. The co-op is accepted into the Southern Louisiana Federation of Co-ops, which is something to celebrate.

Micah is pursuing his photography while going to school. He runs into Keke, and the two of them take a walk by the river and get high. Micah's friend, Isaiah, is visiting Mexico.

Nova is dating Dominic. Working together, they research all of the living descendants of the massacre in the 1800s on the Bordelon farm and publish the stories they uncover.

Nova is offered "high six figures" to turn her book, Blessings, and Blood, into a movie. She's excited but hesitates to tell her family. After helping her fix things at her house for six months, Prosper finally asks Sandy out on a date.

Billie is ignoring phone calls from her estranged husband, Vince. Sam Landry announces that Nova's article uncovered that Parker's mother was an ancestor of the massacre on the Bordelon farm. Parker is petitioning to overturn the historical landmark status so that she and Sam can build their outlet mall.

Violet asks Sam if he's sure he wants to go down this path. Sam claims that Vi hasn't left him any choice.
