A social worker shows up at the diner. They're looking for Joaquin and Dante. They believe there is no longer an adult in the home. Later, Joaquin tells Vi that their mother was picked up by ICE and sent back to Mexico.

Joaquin and Dante are alone in the house, and Dante has a black eye from a fight at school. Violet has them pack their things and come to her home.

Hollywood and Violet agree to take temporary custody of Joaquin and Dante. Social services say that a background check needs to be run on all adults in the house. They fail to mention that Ralph Angel and Darla live there, too, knowing that Ralph Angel will fail the background check.

Blue hacked into the school server and is facing possible suspension. Darla flies to D.C. to be a part of the meeting with the principal. Blue was upset because the history lessons only addressed white history. Although Darla says that what Blue did was wrong, she understands why he did it and that the school should look into changes in the curriculum.

Darla runs into an old friend who says Blue looks just like Chase. She remembers Chase and Darla having "a thing." Darla corrects her, saying there was no "thing" as she was unconscious at the time. The friend tells Darla that Chase is running for Congress. Darla urges her to keep the past in the past.

The Farmer's Co-op decides to pool their money and try to buy Parthena's farm at auction. Unfortunately, Sam Landry swoops in, bids three times as much as the co-op can, and takes the land.

It turns out that Sam is angry because the ring shout convinced the council to change their mind about reversing the historical preservation.

Micah gets the cold shoulder from Zane and his crew when his political photos don't sell. They want Micah to post stuff about his famous parents to bring in more money. Zane doesn't think that Micah fits in at Ivory. With Zane's encouragement, Micah ends up posting an NFT of Charley on the basketball court after she found out that Davis had cheated on her.

Billie tells Vince about her past and how she never shared parts of herself with him. She was punishing herself and, by extension, him, and she's been trying to work through all of that.

Vince says he's willing to give Billie the time she needs, but if she returns, he wants to get married and grow together. Or they go their separate ways.

Prosper proposes to Sandy at the potluck celebration at the diner. She says yes.
