Recap

We see what happened when Madi left the building. A "delivery" guy that looks like Kyle the Intern takes Xander to the balcony and tosses him over. He had one job, and he fucked it up.

There is a podcast host, Morgan Shaw, who is talking about disinformation distracting people from the real truth.

Twenty-four hours ago.

John is having a panic attack. He's out of medication. Only one is left. He's in the basement of a building, turning on the power. It's another safe house.

Ben can't find anything in the data, so John takes a look.

Madi is looking at footage of Kyle entering the building.

John found something. Valence was investing in NFTs, but he didn't like art, and he wasn't a speculative investor. Ben thinks it's a simple explanation, but John doesn't buy it.

Ben says John is showing scenes of deeply entrenched PTSD, which is understandable. But John knows that something isn't right. Edward screams down that it's how he was being paid. Edward wants to talk to his wife, who is likely suffering because she thinks he's dead.

Edward knows the emails are from a guy named Elliott. After looking at his wife, he shares what he knows about NFTs, and it makes more sense than any explanation I've ever heard. The easiest way of laundering money is by privately buying and selling certain kinds of assets, including real estate, art, rare wines, and one-of-a-kinds that are non-fungible.

There's no real market value for certain things, just the value agreed upon by two parties. So people make NFTs for pennies and say they're worth a million. You're the possessor of a million dollars through fine art.

Now it's Kyle's turn to get a call from who we assume is Crowley. He didn't give the order to dump Xander over the balcony. The voice sounds like someone.

Kyle is sick of doing shit for other people. It's good money, which is how he's kept under his control. His girlfriend is excited to join what will become the riots over the credits of the episode.

John decides to teach Hailey what she needs to know to be his right hand for the operation.

Madi heads to Kyle's to pay him a visit. She pops open the door that leads to a dark, dang basement apartment. There's a book on the desk, People I Want to Punch in the Throat. An article, Butchering Your First Animal.

Madi gets a tip about Arda and that Edward Homm was investigating Elliott Gau.

John teaches Hailey the ropes, giving her her final lesson: Always, and he means always, listen to the person in your ear.

She successfully steals something.

Edward is watching his wife again, and he sees her kissing Top-Knot Kevin. After getting him aggravated, Ben leaves Edward on his own.

Elliot Gau is hosting an auction for useless crap, including a rare bottle of booze for only $150k. Hailey has infiltrated the auction. She heads straight to Elliot, complimenting him. She has a fake badge and is posing as Jo Madi. She asks about business with Valence. She spots someone there and stops in her tracks. Her old boss is there, and she stole money from him.

Hailey's got to abort. Meanwhile, Elliott is getting messages. There's a photo of him with Hailey, asking if he's talking to the FBI. "He's pissed and coming to see you."

John tells Hailey to abort her abort. She was spotted, and the people in the blue Mercedes were after her for the money she stole. John calls in Edward for help. He's still watching Top-Knot Kevin, who is wearing his bathrobe.

A trio of guys confronts Hailey while John and Edward claim to be Department of Building inspectors. He's kind of excited at the espionage.

Elliott pulls Hailey into a room to say she's not Madi, and he says Crowley is coming to deal with her.

Ben arrives as Mr. Crowley. He tries to get information from Elliott to get information from Crowley, like Innerverse, but he inadvertently gives himself away to Crowley. They put another plan into action.

It's the consensual affair site that as advertised before John's initial thing that led him to Hailey.

Morgan Shaw is broadcasting from the riot, where someone seems to be attacking Kyle.

John says they need more people. It's time to bring his team back in.

Rabbit Hole Season 1 Episode 4 Quotes

Billionaires bankroll vaccines to insert nanodevices into every American, which the NSA, using the 5G spectrum, can use to control us. If you are one of the millions of Americans who believe this to be true, then you are a victim of a massive disinformation operation intended to distract you from the real truth, the real conspiracy. The real truth is that a cabal of the rich and powerful are working behind the scenes to consolidate their control over every aspect of American society. You buy what they want you to buy. You click what they want you to click on. You stare at your screens, oblivious to the fact that their hand is in your pocket. Wake up, sheeple!

John: You gotta connect the digital antenna. It's right there.
Hailey: How many of these do you have?
John: Antennas? Just the one.
Hailey: No, I mean creepy secret hideouts.
John: I don't know. A lot. I keep searching these government auction sites. I can't help myself.
