Recap

Ben is returned to his bed in the middle of the night as if nothing ever happened.

But when he talks about it being freezing outside, Kate wonders how he knows that. Hmmm.

One week later, Harry is guzzling coffee before his big day. He visits a local porta potty with his briefcase filled with pizza and is taken on an express train to underground facilities.

He loved being alone on his planet, but now he's working in a cubicle for General McCallister. Harry isn't being a team player, which is holding up progress. A week ago, he saved everyone when an alien craft started a countdown, and he stopped it with his fist.

McCallister says he needs to fall in line. He's part of a team now. Her lieutenant mouths, "I hate you" to him.

Asta and D'Arcy are roommates. The local headline says D'Arcy bails out of the hardpack tournament. D'Arcy doesn't care. Things are different now.

Detective Torres and Mike are having breakfast together. They're full-on dating now, and she even pays the bill, much to his dismay.

Liv has a still from the day Peter Bach was killed. She wants to get the van, not study photos. Mike reminds her of the fake government agents who showed up at her house.

Joseph has settled in as a new deputy. Someone found a bag at the bus stop, and Joseph begins going through it. It belongs to Peter's son, and the ball, now shaped like a hockey puck cum magnet, falls out and sticks to the leg of the desk.

Joseph visits Harry at the clinic. He stops things so they can talk. Harry is unimpressed at his presence, and Joseph is unimpressed that Harry returned when they provided him transportation home.

Harry threatens to tell everyone he's a Grey, but when Joseph reports back the charter rules, Harry flips him off, and they point fingers.

Joseph takes a liking to Asta. She seems smitten with him, too.

At night, Kate awakes to find Ben is not beside her. There is an owl outside her window, and it's not the first time she saw it. It was there last week, too. Ben thinks it's good luck to see an owl staring back at you as a way for her to curtail spending money on new blinds.

Harry doesn't like working like a human. He calls off sick, and the General finds him. Harry tells her who Joseph really is and shares all the photos he's taken, including his penis. Yeah, he's definitely going to have to take the HR seminar.

He tells her he has a plan, but he doesn't have a plan.

Sahar learned that Peter was murdered. She thinks Max should make some new friends. She thinks the alien tracker's death is his fault since he sold him out to Harry. They need to go sniff around Harry's place for clues.

Liv invites Mike to the bar so nobody will hear them. He can't hear her at all, so while she explains what she learned about the duffle bag, they scream about diarrhea.

Harry joins the girls for girl talk, but when talk turns to Asta asking Joseph on a date, Harry protests until he realizes that she can get information for him.

Mike arrives at the reservation to find the van but gets nowhere. Liv and John show up, and their story changes. Everyone has a good time once the mood lightens, but Mike isn't amused.

Ben has a mug with the ultrasound photo on it, and as he sips coffee and explains why, Kate flashes back to her own abduction and seeing the fetus just as Ben did when he was abducted.

Ben takes her hand and sees a bracelet that reminds him of his abduction. They are both getting sick and gagging, but they have no idea why.

Harry thinks he's like Superman, the real alien hero. Max and Sahar visit, and Max wastes no time asking what happened to the alien tracker while Sahar searches the house.

Sahar finds the alien tracker's taser inside, and Max is shocked that Harry lied to him.

Liv looks for fingerprints on the van while Mike chastises her for washing her cast iron skillet.

Harry gives Asta a pressed powder listening device and tells her to take it, use it on her sweaty face, and ask lots of questions.

Asta rambles during dinner. She says she's kind of like two people in one, and he agrees. Two people in one, but sometimes only half. It prompts him to share too much and then ask about Harry.

Harry is pleased that the General brings him equipment that he doesn't have to buy online, but when he starts listening to the pressed powder, he hears Judy instead.

Harry tries to find the device but finds Judy singing in the tub.

D'Arcy is surprised by Judy being in the house but even more surprised that someone else was in the house.

Harry goes to the restaurant to give Asta her good luck hug and put the powder in her bag.

Sahar and Max are growing apart because she wants more friends, and he wants to be a duo. She wants him to find more friends because she's moving away to a prestigious school in California.

He takes from the conversation that he's the new alien tracker and swipes the taser.

When Kate says there is an owl outside the house, she discovers they are messengers of death. Scares the heck out of everyone when she says it just sits outside the window. Dan gives her cedar to burn in the house to ward it off. But Kayla and Dan won't go to the house to help her.

D'Arcy wants to know why Harry is listening to Asta's date and breaks his equipment when he doesn't comply. She cannot believe he let Asta go out with a Grey. Now D'Arcy is tracking her, too.

D'Arcy gets rid of Joseph, reveals Harry, and they tell Asta who she's dating. Asta has a thing about aliens wanting to destroy the world.

Asta has to explain Harry's childlike mentality to D'Arcy so she doesn't hit him. Harry says he has no choice, and Asta asks him to go.

In his voiceover, Harry remarks on humans never being alone and that every decision affects others. Maybe that's why humans struggle with difficult decisions. He made the decision that the earth is more important than one person, but what if one person is more important than everyone else?

He decides to kill Asta, but he can't do it. He says he had to stop trying to save the planet because of her. If he could just kill her, it would be so much better. But what is even better is finding the right person on your team to lift you up rather than holding you back. Asta will help him find information from Joseph.

Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 1 Quotes

General: Why do you have a picture of a boy's chest?
Harry: Oh, that's my chest. I have been manscaping.

Working in a group like a human is not efficient. Yesterday, I spent half the day searching my email for data sequencing numbers, but all I found were fantasy football requests. If I'm going to defeat Joseph, I need to work alone like a real alien. So, I handled it exactly like a human worker would. I texted Jeff and asked him to tell the General I was sick.

Harry [to himself]
