Rizzoli & Isles Season 7 Episode 6 revolves around a potential serial killer at a local hospital. Jenny Tate, a cancer patient, is found dead in a wing that is being built onto the hospital. She was impaled with an iron bar and a white rose placed in her hand. A local mystery writer informs the detectives that this is similar to a ghost story about the hospital. Supposedly, a doctor let patients die in the early 1900s and the ghost of a patient named Hannah Rose haunted the hospital and killed him.

Jane is skeptical of this story but a hospital administrator confirms it is an urban legend connected to the hospital. The person who told it to her is dead. However, Jane is skeptical of the writer because she seems overly eager to get access to the hospital archives, which she needs in order to research a new novel she is writing. The investigation becomes more urgent when a Dr. Morgan is found dead in the same wing of the hospital. He also is holding a white rose.

The investigation hits a lot of dead ends, literally, but eventually the detectives realize who the murderer is. Meanwhile, Frankie tries to avoid a social invitation by hiding from Kent.
