Recap

It's the guy who had the house before Harper. He's a construction guy, saving flowers in a book he carries with him.

While gathering, he finds a portal in the middle of the woods. When he walks through it, the house is across another field, right in the middle of the woods.

Once inside, he finds someone hanging above the stairway. They're from the future and they left a note: All Yours.

The fellow pulls the dead body out the front door, and when it opens again, it's Harper. One of Kirby's dogs is in the hallway. Harper tosses a shoe outside and the dog goes after it. That stinks. The dog is going to be all alone!!!

Kirby shows Jinny her new life by rifling through her wallet. Jinny doesn't want to do what Kirby says, but Kirby says she has to live that life or else they'll think she's nuts.

Kirby goes to Dan's house. There is a stranger living there. He's lived there for a few years and knows nothing about Dan.

Next, Kirby tries finding Rachel. No luck.

Someone wakes Kirby the next morning in the stacks. She doesn't know who he is or where she belongs, but she takes the cart and starts making rounds to look normal.

The guy runs up behind her, apologizing that her clips took forever. He's the new guy, and she's a writer.

She finds her desk with all of her familiar items. She asks the curly haired fella about Dan and a police report. He doesn't know what she's talking about, brining up Pavel Banek.

She doesn't understand why they aren't covering the other women. It's time for a staffer, and she's so out of the loop.

In the meeting, they get word that Dan was killed. Kirby can't believe it. No, that's wrong, she says, and walks out of the meeting.

Kirby falls apart in the main office, and Jinny finds her there.

Harper is visiting Leo. Harper says he picked a good day to visit since Leo remembers him, and Leo has no idea what he's talking about.

Harper calls out Leo on talking to people about Klara. Harper starts rifling through Leo's possessions looking for the tape. Leo says he doesn't have the tape, but Harper knows that he'll give it to someone and that's how they'll find him. But Leo doesn't know where it is.

Leo says that if Harper takes him back to the house, he'll do better. Harper refuses.

Kirby and Jinny meet again, and Kirby tells Jinny that Dan's dead, which is why she's alive.

In Jinny's new life, she dropped out of college the same day that Kirby got attacked. She thinks there are now three of them on interconnecting threads through time. Harper just wants it to end, and Jinny thinks it will if one of the three is taken out.

Harper takes Leo to the house. Leo is thrilled. The lights are gone. Leo has so many questions. He just wants to go back and watch White Sox games. He just wants to go home.

Leo remembers everything. He'll use it against Harper if he can, but all he needs to do is take Leo home. Harper kills Leo in the house. Will that be the end of him since he was killed there?

Kirby returns to the office, but everything has changed again. Everyone and everything is different. Kirby puts Jinny at what she thinks is her desk to look things up and goes to talk with Marcus. She wants to know about the regiment they found and if he can get records from WWI. He's married to someone else and developing a bunch of photos of Dan.

Dan looks so different. He looks happy and put together.

Harper is covered in blood and wander the hallways of... I'm not sure.

Jinny has to work on the fly when someone asks her why she's at her desk. It's difficult.

Kirby asks someone else about Dan's death. She thought he was being robbed, but he was the one doing the robbing. Dan had some other guys stuff on him, he says, but Kirby is skeptical.

Jinny freaks out and winds up being taken by the cops.

Harper is wandering in the 40s, stealing food from a nearby picnic.

Kirby gets back to the office. Jinny is gone. She asks Marcus what happened and tells her she said she could be here. And Marcus says, OK, and who are you?

Kirby heads to the morgue. Iris is there, asking about Dan. Iris said Kirby doesn't want to see him like he is and Kirby wants to know what was on his body. She presses as to whether Iris thinks he was a thief. She says he never took anything. He told other people's stories. And whatever he had, he took it from her.

Iris asks Kirby if she wants a cup of coffee and tells her to be careful over there.

Kirby find the evidence bag. There is a photo in his wallet with an address on the back. Kirby takes it, and visits Dan. She touches his hair.

When she goes outside, the pathologist is Howard. Things are changing so fast.

Kirby visits the house, breaking a window and going in through the back.

Kirby opens a switchblade as she examines the house.

She sees a set of horses that's missing the size she has in her pocket.

She heads upstairs. It's a mess, far worse than when Harper inherited the place. She finds her earrings on the bureau.

Harper is home. He senses something is amiss. The TV is on, and his tape of Klara is playing.

Something crashes, and when he turns, Kirby beats him with a stick. She gets him pretty good until he turns the tides, pulling on her throat with a rope. But she escapes and ultimately sticks him in the throat.

Klara is on stage, with Harper watching her. When he visits her backstage, Klara has got his number. She says his lines the same time he tries to get them out of his mouth. He doesn't understand.

At the old woman's window, Harper is spotted, but he still goes inside. He hears the Casio, which is laid out on the bed. Below the bed is a polaroid of him looking at the watch. There is an address on the back.

Leo and Harper continue to the house as they once did.

Once inside, Harper cannot stop looking over his shoulder. He looks at the horse and pockets it. While he's walking down the hall, Kirby shoots him. She tells Leo to get out.

Harper doesn't know Kirby. He begs for his life. Harper doubles down.

Harper goes outside, and Leo is waiting. Moments later, he's out of his uniform, and wearing normal clothes. Leo wonders where he would have gotten a uniform. Harper never made it over to fight. Harper's experiencing the same thing Kirby and Jinny did.

The only thing Harper left with was the horse, no, Pegasus. Horses don't have wings, Leo says.

One by one, the people who were killed are revealed to be alive, their lives restored. Dan is at the bar when Kirby pulls up a chair.

She plays the same trick on Dan that Harper did with her. She wants to guess what's in his pocket for his drink. She knows what's in it, but not becauase she's been there before. She just knows him.

He doesn't remember her.

Kirby hears something at the door at the house. She opens the door, and it's Grendel.

Kirby closes the door and sits on the couch, reunited with her dog.

Shining Girls Season 1 Episode 8 Quotes

I don't want to feel this way anymore, so I don't care what happens next.

Kirby

Harper: I need you to talk to me. Clear, none of the horseshit about the lights.
Leo: They're always there. You would talk about them, too.
