Recap

The Cerritos crew are taking a sentient totalitarian computer named Agimus into custody.

As they are leaving the planet, they are hailed by Queen Pilana, who requests the aid of their chief engineer, Billups. Turns out he's her son.

In the Lower Decks, Boimler's excited to be joining Ransom's team who are assigned to wrangle giant centipedes on Dansk.

Suddenly, Boimler is alerted that he's been reassigned to the Daystrom cargo shipment trip with Mariner.

In Engineering, Billups reminds his team that his mother will try to get him to have sex in order to force him to take over the throne of Hysperia.

His mother insists that she's not there to trick him. She really needs him to fix their engines.

Rutherford is full of insecurity about accompanying Billups to the Hysperian ship. Tendi encourages him to get out of his comfort zone.

Mariner tries to cheer Boimler up on their shuttle but they hit a space storm and crash on a nearby planet.

On the planet's surface, they discover they have no communication systems. The replicator only produces dry black licorice.

They hear Agimus calling for help. The computer offers to help them contact help.

Billups and Rutherford board the Hysperian ship where Billups is immediately welcomed back as Prince Andirithieau. He and Rutherford set about diagnosing the issue while everyone around him tries to flirt with him.

Agimus tries to convince Boimler and Mariner to connect it to a network. Their rations get eaten by some local wildlife. While they're distracted, Agimus manages to plug into Mariner's PADD and gain access to some information.

When Boimler and Mariner set out to look for water, they take Agimus along with them. They find a fruit tree and the fruit is edible but tastes like black licorice. Agimus taunts them one time too many and they bury him instead of carrying him onwards.

While they're sleeping, some creatures dig Agimus up and carry him away. Boimler saves him and Agimus reveals that Mariner had Boimler reassigned to the cargo transport mission.

Boimler confronts Mariner with the information and she points out that he's letting Agimus get in his head. She carries Agimus away.

Billups finds the problem on the Hysperian ship. Billups is called over to the Cerritos by Freeman and he leaves Rutherford to clean up. While he's meeting with Freeman, part of the Hysperian ship blows up, killing the queen and Rutherford among others.

Tendi is heartbroken and Billups is resigned to becoming king.

On the planet, Boimler and Mariner clash and he stuns her in order to use Agimus to start up a ship with an intact computer.

Tendi discovers that Rutherford's implant is still transmitting so she goes to the Hysperian ship.

Mariner wakes up, grumpy. Boimler points out to Agimus that they'll need an auxiliary power source to reboot the system and Agimus insists he use his battery.

Tendi finds Rutherford alive and feasting. Tendi realizes the explosion was a ruse to trick Billups into having sex.

Rutherford races to save Billups only to discover Billups was unable to get aroused at all.

Mariner finds Boimler and Agimus. Agimus is triumphant until Boimler reveals that he tricked Agimus into letting him use his power cell to send a distress signal.

Billups tells off his mom who doesn't seem daunted.

On their way to Daystrom, Agimus tries to convince Mariner and Boimler that he's reformed. He becomes enraged when he is stored and gets into a trash-talking match with all the other supercomputers Starfleet has taken custody of.

Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 2 Episode 7 Quotes

Mariner: Boimy's got a phaser rifle! Nice! Now, how are those different from regular phasers?
Boimler: Uh, they take two hands.

I don't know why I keep giving alien street food a chance. It's always such a gamble.
