Freeman and Shaxs are sent to Pakled Planet to broker a peace.

On arrival, Freeman is addressed as Janeway, and the ambassador she meets says he's not authorized to broker peace.

A Pakled comes running in to let them know their prisoner, Rumdar, has escaped to the Cerritos. Ransom reports Rumdar is claiming asylum. The Pakled ambassador insists the captain stays on the planet until their prisoner is returned.

At breakfast, Mariner is pissed that they've all been assigned Anomaly Consolidation Duty. Boimler's excited. Tendi asks about it.

Boimler stumbles and dumps food on himself, making Tendi laugh uncontrollably.

Ensign Casey invites Boimler to join his Red Shirts, a clique of ensigns who plan to make captain one day. They want Boimler to tell them about Riker. Boimler agrees, abandoning his friends to Anomaly Duty.

Ransom and Kayshon are touring Rumdar through the ship and suspect he's actually a spy.

Mariner, Rutherford, and Tendi keep having the anomalies they're collecting go bizarre on them. Tendi stays persistently positive until Mariner snaps at her.

Ransom and Kayshon take Rumdar on a non-secret tour of non-high-security things. Then they lose him when they look away for a minute. He's found much later, floating in space after accidentally air-locking himself.

On the planet, Freeman meets the queen but the queen isn't able to negotiate a cease-fire, either.

The Red Shirts give Boimler a make-over and some speech delivery tips.

When Boimler runs into Delta Team, the Red Shirts hurry him along.

After Tendi gets eaten and pooped out by a space slub, her mood changes.

Freeman meets the top Pakleds and witnesses their demise at the hands of Rebels.

Tendi melts down, influenced by a mood cube, and turns into a giant scorpion.

Tendi starts tearing the mess apart until Boimler breaks ranks with the Red Shirts and tries to make her laugh in order to reverse the transformation. It works but the Red Shirts are upset he embarrassed himself to save Tendi.

Tendi reverts to herself.

Ransom and Kayshon discover Rumdar is floating outside.

T'Ana revives him and Ransom sends him back where the Pakled laugh at Freeman for allowed Rumdar to spy.

 Freeman tricks Rumdar into telling her about the Pakleds plans.

Delta Team reconcile.

Boimler runs in Red Jackets and calls them on their pretentiousness. The Red Shirts abandoned Casey. He does get the acting captain job but is immediately ousted by Shaxs.

Mariner shows off a casting stone she swiped. They use it to taunt Armus by prank calling him.
