Recap

The Cerritos arrives at a classified location to pick up the Voyager.

Boimler’s cleaning the holodeck and Ransom hints that he’ll be promoted soon.

The curator of the Voyager is highly anxious. Rutherford opens a panel to check for Neelix Cheese and he freaks out.

Tendi and T’Lyn are transporting the Tuvix orchid plant and a petal falls onto the transporter when T’ana and Billups are transporting. They become merged and call themselves T’illups.

Captain Freeman plans to do whatever Janeway did, not realizing she had to destroy Tuvix to regain Neelix and Tuvok.

A macrovirus attacks Boimler but the curator doesn’t want it harmed.

It starts to divide and Boimler lets it escape the bridge.

Freeman is shocked when she learns about Janeway’s solution but figures Starfleet medicine might have a better answer and plans to ask them when they get to Starbase 1. In the meanwhile, T’illups learns what Janeway does and decides to take things into their own hands. They start abducting crew members and merging them.

On Voyager, a Borg nanite has assimilated the macrovirus. Because the curator outfitted the entire ship with holo-emitters, the crew is outnumbered and overwhelmed by a number of holodeck villains.

On Cerritos, T’illups creates Dr. Captain Frigleeman.

Tendi and T’Lyn debate the ethics of killing T’illups when the merged crew attacks.

Boimler and Mariner discuss the potential promotion. Boimler’s afraid it’ll ruin his friendship with Mariner. Mariner tells him it was her idea to promote him.

T’illups continues to build his Tuvix army. Tendi and T’lyn discover the plan and T’lyn takes control of the transporter and combines all the Tuvixed crew into one entity and transports them into the brig.

The villains on Voyager set a heading for the nearest Borg cube.

Boimler frees Rutherford and he realizes Neelix cheese will stop the ship.

Tendi realizes the scanner can identify personalities in the merged meat blob. She and T’lyn are able to isolate each individual in the mix.

Boimler and Rutherford attempt their rescue. Boimler stalls Chaotica and Rutherford throws the cheese in the system.

At the Voyager grand opening on Earth, Rutherford and Boimler get their own chapter in the Voyager Story.

Boimler, T’lyn, and Tendi get promotions.

Mariner also gets promoted.

Later, Mariner protests to Ransom that he’s wrong to promote her. She refuses the promotion. He won’t listen.

The team commiserates together. And then celebrates together.

Somewhere in Klingon space… A couple of lower decks Klingons discuss the captain, Ma’ah, who was once lower decks like them.

The ship’s alarm goes off as they encounter an unknown vessel that does not respond to hails despite the ship showing a single life sign on board.

Suddenly, the vessel approaches with weapons charged. The Klingons are unable to fire their weapons. The ship’s power is drained and then the unknown vessel destroys them.

Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 Episode 1 Quotes

Kayshon: The ship was damaged by cheese?
Ransom: It’s Voyager. Sh*t got freaky.

Ransom: Promotions are coming up and I think you’ll be very happy.
Boimler: Wait, really? I’m getting a promotion?
Ransom: As long as nothing goes sideways today, you’ll be a Lieutenant Junior Grade.
Boimler: But stuff always goes sideways!
Ransom: Relax. You’d have to screw up in a historically significant way to mess this one up.
Boimler: Okay, yeah, what are the odds of that?
