When Veggie, Lisa, and Poppy go on a camping trip, Lisa thinks it’s going to be just the three of them, but unbeknownst to Lisa, when she said she wanted family time, Veggie misinterpreted and invited his parents, Russell and Christine.

Russell is Veggie’s stepdad but also the dad who raised him, and he and Veggie are very close. Christine tells Lisa that when Veggie was asked at age nine what he wanted to be when he grew up, his answer was stepdad.

Lisa hates camping but pretends to like to because Veggie does. She also hates Christine, who is exceptionally nice on the surface but very pushy. She tells Lisa that Veggie’s favorite holiday when he was a kid was at a campground in France. She insists that Lisa should suggest going there and badgers Lisa until she can say the name of the location properly in French.

Lisa sneaks off at night and calls Danny to vent. She’s worried he’s still angry about their last conversation, where she revealed she knew Chloe cheated on him with three other guys, but Danny says he’s fine.

Danny has a workman, Rich, retiling the bathroom. Danny can’t wait for him to leave, but Rich breaks down in tears. He and his husband, Chris, had a huge fight, and he doesn’t want to go home, so Danny lets him sleep on his sofa. Later, Chris shows up at Danny’s to talk to Rich, and the two hash it out.

At the campsite, Lisa sprains her ankle, but Christine keeps insisting it isn’t a sprain but simply a pull or a bruise and won’t drop it.

Christine and Russell insist they play the special game the family made up years ago called Veggie Veggie Bing Bong. Lisa hates the game, can never remember the rules, and always loses. She asks Veggie to team up with her so she has a chance against Christine, but Veggie says that would be cheating and against the family code.

Lisa calls Danny for help. She puts in her earbuds and sets the phone in her pocket so Danny, Rich, and Chris can all see the game. They help Lisa beat Christine and win.

Danny seems taken aback when he sees Lisa and Veggie together on the screen.

Veggie seems hurt when he sees Lisa calling Danny and celebrating her win.

Later, Christine implies to Lisa that she and Veggie will be having a child of their own soon. Lisa is confused until Christine lets it slip that Veggie may be planning to propose.
