Kreizler hypnotizes Sara so she can understand what being hypnotized feels like. The team comes to the conclusion that the kidnapper is a woman. John introduces Sara to Oggie Gildersleeve. Markoe tells Helen, the mother of a stolen baby, that her child is dead. Sara slips in the employee door of the Lying-In Hospital. The matron, Maureen, catches her but  Oggie had arranged for her to interview Markoe. Sara meets a talkative young nurse, Libby. Another nurse, Colleen, is reluctant to go to Markoe's office. Kreizler has Martha Napp's baby buried with her. The Isaacsons find breast milk in the dead baby's stomach. Sara and Libby bond over having fathers who committed suicide. Sara tells Libby about Anna being stolen after her stay at the hospital. Libby says Maureen paid particular attention to Anna. Maureen's landlady informs Sara that Maureen sometimes brings home babies. Helen, whose baby was stolen, awakes to see Maureen dance in a gown that was sent for Helen. While breaking into Markoe's files, Libby overhears Markoe and Byrnes talking about Sara. Markoe tells Byrnes he knows nothing about Anna Linares being taken. Violet crashes John's office seeking his wedding-invitation list. Kreizler performs a magic trick for a young patient. Isabella Linares agrees to hypnosis. She recalls a painting she had seen at the Metropolitan Museum. Then she collapses from a memory that came after she left the museum. Lucius confesses to Marcus that he told Byrnes about the Linares kidnapping. Sara asks Cecilia Bow to help render Isabella's memories. Isabella describes a dark presence of a woman. Libby gives Sara the report on Martha. John takes his bachelor party to Cyrus's bar. John and Laszlo convince Sara to come. Sara wants to send Bitsy into the hospital undercover. Kreizler gives a drunken toast. The kidnapper nurses Anna.
