Recap

The episode kicks off with Natalie explaining how important the quinceanera is when it comes to saving the family.

It isn't just a party from childhood to adulthood, it's the way to fix the Garcia's, who have been broken and fighting for quite some time now.

The bakery is still closed, the parents can't pay the bills, Daniel is helping out by making cookie pizzas at a nearby restaurants, and Mateo quit music and his life has become complicated since kissing Vanessa.

Oh, and Daniel can't figure out how to get over Noa.

The only thing keeping Mari sane is planning the quince, but when Raf finds out that the price for the renovations has doubled due to the asbestos, he cancels Natalie's big party because he can't afford it.

Mateo and Daniel try to come up with a "budget" quince, but Natalie turns to Noa for help.

Noa assures Daniel this is her way of returning the favor, plus, she still owes him a wish.

Mari is surprisingly fine with it, but Rafael isn't. He refuses to take Noa's money, which leads to an even bigger blowout between them.

Daniel and Noa talk for the first time since their breakup, and she informs him that she never went island hopping. She's been in Miami this whole time taking care of Lewis. Daniel seems relieved.

She tries to get out of going to the party, but Lewis informs her that she's doing it for Natalie. She encourages him to go talk to someone, and while Lewis considers a therapy group, he decides to call up the date he ditched at the beginning of the season. He comes clean about his cancer and the two begin to enjoy each other's company.

Mateo invites Vanessa to the quince, and she realizes that since he's playing live, it's the best time to show Marlow, the music producer, that he's the real deal.

When she invites Marlow, he agrees to go as long as he can be her date.

When Vanessa arrives at the party, Daniel is surprised to see her with a date. She asks him how he's coping with the breakup with Noa when she walks in.

Vanessa tells him that no woman would throw a quince for his sister if she didn't still care.

The crowd begins focusing all their attention on Noa, so Mateo distracts them by welcoming Natalie to her party.

Vanessa and Cristal have a run-in in the bathroom, but they remain cordial. Vanessa even thanks Noa for saving her the heartbreak early on because Daniel never looked at her the way he does at Noa.

The party is a hit. Rafael and Mari make up by remembering the good times and acknowledging that even without the bakery and the cafe, they still have each other.

Natalie dances with her girlfriend, Amy.

However, Mateo gets jealous when he sees Marlow and Vanessa heating up and informs the producer, who is impressed with his musical talents this time around, to look up "the soup girl" online.

He regrets it immediately after, but Marlow disappears from the party leaving Vanessa confused.

Mateo takes her to the house she's trying to sell and pops the champagne. He tells her she has a vision and sees things others don't, which is why he thinks she could flip this place and make it even better.

Vanessa is impressed with Mateo's suggestion, she admits he's right, and they hook up.

At the party, Daniel informs Noa that their break up made him realize that he liked his life the way it was. He didn't want to be part of her celebrity lifestyle anymore or be followed around by paparazzi.

Noa is broken, but she tells him she understands.

The next morning, Daniel is approached by Thomas Gold at his temporary job. Gold has seen his food critic videos and wants to offer him a gig working alongside him.

Daniel is in disbelief.
