On The Mindy Project Season 3 Episode 12, Mindy arrives in Stanford for her fellowship and settles in with Danny by her side. While unpacking Danny is becoming protective of Mindy being in California by herself. When Mindy discovers that a professor is a former classmate of Danny's, he offers to call him up, but Mindy does not want any special treatment.
Later, Mindy starts off the fellowship by making a bad first impression with her professor and classmates, so she uses Danny's name to get the professor to like her.
In New York, Morgan has a charity basketball tournament that Danny bails out of to stay in California. A flirtateous Tamra wants to get back together with Morgan, so she helps convince Peter to join the team. However, when Tamra learns that Morgan is dating Jessica, she quits the team too.
