In the season 3 premiere of The Taste, 16 contestants must be chosen to compete for the title of America's best undiscovered cook. 

We begin with the blind auditions. Several contestants prepare a bite of food to present to the judges, who will taste it blind.

The first contestant is Dan, a firefighter who cooks for his colleagues. His crab cake impressed both Nigella and Ludo, giving Dan the opportunity to choose between them. He chose Ludo.

Next up was Mika, who's food looked promising. Unfortunately, she didn't finish cooking on time.

And one of the contestants was Renee from The Bachelor, who was chosen to be on Nigella's team. There was also Joe from Big Brother.

Eric impressed the judges with his dish, and all four of them chose him to be on their team. But before they all had the chance to speak. he chose Anthony.

Once the teams were chosen, they went right into the first team challenge, with the theme of "childhood." Each mentor assigned a type of dish for their team to cook, and then chose the best dish to represent the team.

The representative dishes were judged blindly by renowned chef Stephanie Izard, who decided that Nigella's team had the worst bite. This meant that Nigella had to choose one of her cooks to be sent home. Even though most of the team wanted P.K. to be sent home, Nigella sent home Renee.
