Recap

Deja packs her things for her trip, as does Rebecca. Rebecca is bothering Miguel about the trash cans while he is packing all her pills for her. Nicky is packing too.

Randall tells Deja not to go clubbing or anything while she's visiting Malik. Nicky has packed too many clothes.

On the bus, a woman tells Deja that young love changes you. Malik and his daughter meet Deja, who is not thrilled to be meeting Jennifer too.

Nicky is planning on telling Sally that it's been 50 years but he finally made it to CA. He thinks that it's a sucky opening line. Also he needs to make a stop to get a gift. Rebecca thinks Jack had a hand in all this. Miguel and Nicky don't think so. Rebecca thinks they should be more open to new ideas. A song comes on they all like. Rebecca recalls in the past singing it with Jack as they hit the open road.

Jennifer complains about Janelle not having a blue dress or being ready to see her mother. Malilk is annoyed. Deja is left out. Jennifer takes all of Malik's food and doesn't believe he was wrapped up in a paper he had to do.

Nicky goes into a store looking for old cameras. However he is not happy with the $90 price tag. He tries to bargain him down to $50. The guy won't negotiate. Nicky says this whole thing is ridiculous. What was he thinking? He wants to go home. Rebecca manages to get the guy to agree to $70. Nicky tells her he never told Sally he was coming.

Malik admits to Deja he is overwhelmed with studying and co-parenting and working. Deja tells him to take an hour and get his paper done. He's going to make it up to her after.

Nicky rings the doorbell at Sally's. He sees it's the same Sally when she opens the door. She says hello and Nicky freezes up and says he finally made it to CA. She doesn't recognize him.  Rebecca explains.  Nicky gives her the camera. There is a brief flashback. Sally is shocked but pleased to see him

Deja pulls the price tag off her dress.

Nicky comes in and admires Sally's photos. She says that a friend of hers took that. She worked in a pharmacy and photography became a hobby. Nicky asks how Woodstock was. She says she's in a documentary but can't watch it.  There is a lot of awkward laughter. A guy comes in and asks what's going on. It's her husband, Eric. Nicky immediately wants to go. Sally invites them to dinner. Sally and Eric insist.

Malik returns. Deja is in her low-cut dress. He is impressed.

Sally doesn't remember where she and Nicky met. Nicky gives her every detail, including that they had sex. Sally jokes she thought for a second she had Alzheimers. Eric mentions that his wife deflowered half of the Norttheast in the 1960s.

Rebecca has a flashback of sitting with Jack on top of a car looking at the sky. She and Jack feel immortal.

In the present, Rebecca tells everyone that she has Alzheimers. Sometimes she thinks about what her last memory will be before she loses it all. Sally is embarrassed and sorry about what she said. Rebecca can't stop thinking about the garbage cans. Eric says he worries about the deck all the time. He wonders how many months he's spent thinking about that deck. Miguel worries about losing his hair even though it isn't happening. Nicky wonders how many years he spent thinking about him and Sally. He doesn't regret those lost years. It gave him reason to hope that someday something good would happen to him.  Sally is touched. Eric thinks unrequited love is the best. Sally regrets buying a satellite dish as it put a wedge between her and Eric. She says that Nicky has pined for her for 50 years and Eric treats her like a line cook. She and Rebecca go to the kitchen

Rebecca finds Sally looking upset. Sally says the first few years were wonderful. Sex every day and he couldn't get enough of her. She's sure Rebecca turned heads too in those days. Rebecca says Jack got the showroom model and Miguel got the used classic. Sally says she stopped taking photos of herself. When do we stop wanting to see reflections of themselves?

Rebecca tells her how she and Miguel took salsa lessons but some lady looked at her like she was too old for it so she never did it again. Sally says she has a friend who stopped colori

ng her hair.

Deja and Malik go to a club and dance. Deja tells him she's ready. Malik is oblivious to what she means. He finally gets it. He seems nervous when they go back to the dorm. Deja admits she is. Malik puts her hand over his heart and they begin kissing.

Sally and Rebecca are having a great time but Nicky says Miguel wants to go. Rebecca gives Sally a hug. Sally gives her a photo of the two of them. Nicky looks at Sally's wall of photos. He takes one and recalls Sally as a teenager.

Rebecca and Miguel give Nicky and Sally some privacy to say goodbye. Sally tells Nicky he meant a lot to her. He says he made her wall and that's all that matters. She puts her hand on his cheek. It's a full moon. He recalls kissing her as a young man. 

Deja and Malik lie in bed together.

Rebecca tells Miguel he didn't get the best version of her. He has such an ordeal ahead with her illness and she's sorry. Miguel reminds her of their vows. He is sure he is up to the task of being there for her. They kiss. Nicky interrupts to get back in the car. Nicky wants to go back East to help Kevin break ground on the cabin.

Deja spends her bus ride back looking at  a picture of her and Malik.

Nicky and Rebecca hug. Rebecca is sure the universe will put the right person in his path. Nicky scoffs at that.

A stewardess asks Nicky to put up his seat. He makes a lot of noise about it. In a flash forward we see that she is with Nicky at Rebecca's death bed.
