Abigail's absence is explained immediately when Elizabeth addresses it in her opening monologue. It is a lot like a letter to Lori as well as a sendoff to Abigail.

The new Mountie arrives and gets into a bar fight when Jesse takes a swing at Brouchard for showing Clara a card trick.

Rosemary gets a phone in the house much to Lee's dismay.

Carson doesn't want to share with anyone about he and Faith.

A stagecoach rides into town. They've been robbed!

Elizabeth sees the new Mountie and has to take a few deep breaths to get through it.

Clara is angry at Jesse for his bar room brawl. She wants him to get over his jealousy. He's confused about it.

Jesse goes to Martin who agrees with Clara and doesn't want to give advice anyway because he only knows how to lose women. Jesse's doing a fine job of that on his own.

Leland discovers that Nathan doesn't talk much. He's looking for a new friend. Nathan does some detecting, finding bullets on the road while Leland finds the payroll box in a stream.

There's no way to tell where they went.

Two girls are debating horses vs. cars. They stare right into their faces. Elizabeth isn't pleased with Anna and Emily at all.They are supposed to listen to the other point of view with respect, but they failed.

Fiona is quite the gossip.

Elizabeth calls the kids in from school and notices Emily sad sacking it out there. Cutie girl is worried about the new Mountie. He can't possibly be as great as Jack.

Rosemary hangs up on Leland when he doesn't want to discuss the new Mountie over the phone.

The next students do much better debating.

Nathan finds something and asks that Bill return with him to the scene of the crime. Once out there, Bill finds a hat before Nathan starts shooting. He thinks Jeb did the job himself and Shiela is a part of it.

Elizabeth teaches a valuable lesson about American politics which coaching Anna and Emily.

Rosemary turns Leland's head again just when he was ready to cut her line.

The robbers are caught.

When Rosemary overhears someone gossiping about Carson and Faith, she puts a stop to it, sending a rush of emotions to Leland's heart.
