Recap

Jesse finds digging a well on his property a lot harder than he imagined.

While he's busy doing that, Bill is driving everyone nuts in the cafe with his coffee stirring spoon.

Suddenly, a tremor! It's a special tremor as it appears to crack open a vein to oil in Jesse's well.

Henry and Leland suggest Jesse talk to an expert because it's not normal to strike oil four feet down.

Rosemary checks on Elizabeth. She's worried their friendship may be dying on the vine. She invites Elizabeth to dinner and my first thought is matchmaking.

Nathan's neice introduces herself to Bill. Allie is the youngin' who will be taking over the town.

Carson and Faith are all smiles when the local bitties want information on their joint trip to get a heart electrocardiograph.

Allie meets Bouchard when she goes into Queen of Hearts. He reveals his secret for meeting friends -- card tricks.

A representative from the Governor arrives because he wants Bill to replace Judge Southwick.

When Nathan asks Elizabeth how Allie's first day went, he discovers he has a little problem. Elizabeth helps him find Allie, who comes wandering down the street with a fishing stick.

When Elizabeth cancels dinner again, Rosemary arranges for a babysitter the following night.

Bill is very concerned over the looming judgeship. He hates lawyers.

Faith doesn't know why Moonlight Bay keeps playing in her head these days. "You have stolen my heart, please don't go away" are some of the lyrics.

Jesse's oil experts find caprock on top of a less flattering shallow bit of oil. There is about a 40% chance of more oil, but he'd need a lot of equipment and money.

When they find a blockage in the road, Carson and Faith have to camp for the night. That's when Carson learns Faith's mother passed many years ago, and she hasn't spoken to her dad in years.

Faith's mom was a nurse. She caught typhoid fever and died causing a rift between father and daughter. His words were harsh, although she understood his initial concern. He called her a fool.

Elizabeth officially introduces Allie to the rest of the class. Instead of listening to Elizabeth's lesson, Allie tries to make friends with Robert with a card trick.

Henry tries to lure Bouchard into playing a game of chance other than poker because it has a much bigger reward. Meanwhile, Allie is taking money from her classmates as they ooooohh and aaaaaahh over her amazing wizardry.

Elizabeth wants to talk to Allie with Nathan so she understands their expectations within the classroom.

Elizabeth's ears perk up when she discovers Nathan raised Allie. But she's impressed with the way he speaks with her, too.

Henry wants to buy Jesse's land to mine it.

Elizabeth has to skip on ladies' night again when Laura has to help her dad birth a calf.

Faith worries she was too personal with Carson the previous night.

Leland offers to watch Jack while Elizabeth hangs with Rosemary.

Elizabeth balks about leaving him, but Leland assures her he's right next door. When she leaves, he plays peekaboo.

Elizabeth talks about Nathan and how he raises Allie. Rosemary has a nice beverage, cookies, and even buns for the oven.

Bill drops by to see Elizabeth about the words she had with Bouchard for teaching kids to gamble. Bill thinks Leland is doing it all wrong, grabbing Jack so he can burp the little guy.

Arguing over whether Jack will be too cool or too warm is also very sweet.

Rosemary reminisce and share thoughts on Jack.

When Elizabeth notes Carson and Faith as a couple to find real love in Hope Valley, Rosemary worries. Elizabeth thought everyone knew!

Carson and Faith chat about her father. When Carson moves in to kiss Faith, she pulls back. Neighbors are all around! He drops his medical bag and plants a whopping kiss on her. If they didn't know before, they do now.

Jesse and Clara talk about the offer. He could pay off his debt and they could buy another house. It's time.

Leland thought it was pretty funny that Jack stopped crying when Bill walked away.

Nathan confronts Bouchard, but Bouchard doesn't fall for the bait.

At school, Allie is returning her winnings. Most of the items are either fully or half eaten bits of food. She's not winning any friends!

Henry meets a woman named Miss Hager. He's using her drilling rig to try to find oil. Bouchard notices that it's the eighth option in one day and that Henry might be throwing his money around. Welcome to high stakes gambling, Henry says.
