A fantasy musical number plays out, featuring Agent 355 singing "Taking A Chance On Love." In reality, Agent 355 finds herself walking through the woods in the dark.

Yorick and 355 set up camp in the forest on their way to Boston. She is dismantling parts of the helicopter, which she says she learned to do it in Iraq. He wants to get to know her, but she remains closed off. Yorick suspects 355 had something to do with the other helicopter's crash.

On their way to DC, Hero and Sam arrive at an empty house with extensive acreage. Hero insists they rest for one night, but Sam is reluctant. Hero tells Sam about her old horse-riding coach, Karen, and her homeschooled son, Benji. They find an old car in a barn that actually runs. Sam agrees to stay the night and they will drive in the morning.

That evening, Sam and Hero smoke a joint. Hero tells Sam that she was with Mike during the Event, but not that she killed him. Hero says that her mother knew about Mike and accused Hero of being selfish and self-destructive. 

When Sam is asleep, Hero sneaks off to the barn. 

Yorick watches old videos of Beth on his phone. Agent 355 asks Yorick to get undressed so that she can wash his clothes in the river. Reluctantly, he does.

In the morning, Sam can't get the car started. 

Sam and Hero find a pharmacy, but it's mostly empty. There, they find the injured Mackenzie, hiding. Hero notices Mackenzie's leg and attempts to help. Nora comes at her with an ax, but Sam disarms her. Hero informs them that the wound is infected, and cleans it as best she can. Hero suggests that Nora and Mackenzie stay and rest where she and Sam are staying. 

Agent 355 washes the clothes in the river. She stalks a rabbit, then hears a sound that brings her back to their camp. Two women are rifling through her and Yorick's things. The women ask for food, which 355 refuses. They ask why she has two tents -- 355 replies that she is with her sister. Masked, Yorick chases them off with a big stick. 355 is disappointed, but Yorick says he prevented her from killing again. 

355 and the masked Yorick head to a market. 355 spies a motorcycle and offers the merchant a generator in exchange for it. Yorick thinks he sees Beth and runs after her but then finds himself in an empty, off-limits area. Five policewomen come upon him, question him, and hit him, ordering him to take off his mask. He gets on his knees and they remove his mask. He says he is just looking for testosterone. 355 shows up and fights off the policewomen, ordering Yorick to run. They get back to the motorcycle and escape by driving off.

They stop a safe distance away. Yorick realizes he has dropped his phone and wants to go back. She calls him out for being entitled, he retaliates by saying she too quick to violence and stops short of saying she killed the pilots. They collect themselves and get back on the motorcycle, driving away.

In the night, Nora checks on Mackenzie and finds a little toy cat that purrs and meows. Nora doesn't like it, but Mackenzie is happy to take it.

Nora joins Hero and Sam downstairs, telling them the place used to be a shelter for women and children. Hero says Mackenzie needs antibiotics and that Nora should try the camps. Hero suggests DC, but Nora says they just came from there. Sam suggests Baltimore. Nora tells them she came up here to find her doctor cousin, but when she arrived the house had been cleared out. Hero introduces herself as Karen and Sam as Benji. 

Hero gets into bed with Sam and talks up the possibilities if they were to stay. She puts her hands on him. They kiss intensely, but Sam eventually pulls away. Sam asks what happened to the car, but Hero cannot answer him. 

Outside, Nora hears some strange cries. Three women approach on horses.

The women have guns. They draw them on Sam, Hero, Nora, and Mackenzie. They are about to execute them, when Nora tells them that Hero is a doctor, citing that she could help their hurt friend, Kate. The women still want to shoot Nora, Mackenzie, and Sam, but Hero tells them "it's all or none."

The women take Hero and the others to their friend, Kate, who has been shot. With Sam's help, Hero operates on Kate's wound.

Around their campfire, at Agent 355's request, Yorick does a card trick. She tells him she'll help him find Beth after they have finished in Boston.

Kate's condition worsens. Roxanne, the leader of the women, shows up. Roxanne swiftly shoots and kills Kate. Hero says she is merely an EMT, but Kate would likely have not survived even with a surgeon. Roxanne says they can help Mackenzie. Roxanne's women protest that Hero and the others were trespassing, but Roxanne says they should help them, because of how they tried to help Kate.

Nora quietly pulls Hero aside, telling her not to tell these women who her mother is. Hero is confused, but Nora states that she used to work at the White House.

The women lead Mackenzie, Sam, Hero, and Nora into a gigantic warehouse full of food and supplies.
