As Part III of this three-episode story line commenced, we could only hope that a hypothermic Meredith is somehow brought back to life. Thanks to some help in the afterlife, she was.

17. It's the End of the World...

We have… a code… black. These words echoed through our minds for two weeks in advance, as ABC hyped its post-Super Bowl episode of the soon to be Thursday night staple.

18. (As We Know It)

… The tension continues with Meredith keeping her hand on the bomb, Derek refusing to leave the O. R. , Dr. Bailey in labor and much, much more.

19. Fear (of the Unknown)

Dr. Cristina Yang bid us farewell in "Fear (of the Unknown)," which marked the end of the show's 10th season - and with it, an era - in emotional fashion. Fortunately, at least a few original characters departed the series without a funeral.

20. Adrift and at Peace

This installment was heartbreaking, emotional, well-paced, dramatic and a perfect sendoff for (hopefully) better things to come.
