With filming for ABC Family's epic new direct to series drama Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments only two weeks underway, they're getting into the spirit of the endeavor and have released the first teaser marking its release in 2016.
While there isn't any hint of the myriad stars making up the incredible cast, the look of the teaser is unmistakable and, honestly, doesn't it send your heart into little flutters just thinking of what lies ahead?
As for the enormous and talented cast, the show will be taking a somewhat different direction than devoted fans expect, but here's what we know so far. Katherine McNamara will play Clary Fray, who learns just after her 18th birthday that her family line is full of Shadowhunters, an angel/human hybrid responsible for hunting demons.
When her mother, Jocelyn (Maxim Roy), is kidnapped, Clary is introduced to Jace, who will take form through Dominic Sherewood. He helps assimilate Clary into the world of Shadowhunters and he's the bad boy with the soft heart who will have an even softer sport for the girl he's going to vow to protect.
The larger, ensemble cast includes Alberto Rosende as Simon, Isabelle Lightwood as Emeraude Toubia, Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Alan Van Sprang as Valentine Morgenstern, and Jon Cor as Hodge Starkweather.
Whew! Keep a lookout for more Shadowhunters news going forward! Excited yet?!
