Three organizations -- Women in Film and Television (WIFT), Houston and Women in Film, and the General Motors Alliance -- will present Reel Stars of Texas Awards to two very talented, seasoned professionals we have come to know and love over the past year.

(right) and Isaiah Washington, both Houston, Texas, natives and stars of the Emmy-nominated drama Grey’s Anatomy, will be presented with the honor on August 12, beginning at 3:30 PM in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Houston.

Wilson, 36, has been nominated for an Emmy for her supporting role as Dr. Miranda Bailey, the tough-love surgical resident whose job it is to give the interns hell... and valuable lessons. Washington, who turns 43 Friday, has won widespread acclaim for his portrayal of the incomparable Dr. Preston Burke.

The Awards Ceremony will include on-stage interviews with both Chandra and Isaiah, conducted by WIFT members Melanie Lawson, a local news anchor, and Rob McKinnon, a film director. The event is open to the public, with the tickets available through the Hobby Center Box Office.
